I stayed at the Sycamore Inn early June 2023. It is absolutely delightful. The hosts Sammy and Daz were so welcoming and friendly, as were all the staff. I stayed in room 5, beautiful view out of the windows. The room was done to a high standard, I’m sure the linen on the bed is Egyptian cotton, and pillows and bedding so comfortable, the bed slightly firmer than my one at home, however I slept for 12 hours one of the nights of my stay😁 so no complaints from me! The room was spotless, the tea and coffee was very good quality. The shower was good and so easy to get to a good temperature, good towels and more available on request(though there was enough with what was provided). There is a folder with information on the dresser and loads of storage for clothes. The grounds were lovely and a couple of mornings I sat down in the bottom garden/field area which is by the very good sized car park. Birds singing fresh air ! The food in the pub is delicious, the head chef Nick was more than happy to adapt meals to my tastes, (I miss the chunky chips and fish cakes). There are several areas in and around the pub to sit and relax, really was a lovely welcoming place to be. At present the pub itself is not open on a Monday and Tuesday, I noticed Very welcoming and I would recommend.

Lovely little countryside pub with great restaurant. Food was good and plentiful. Waitresses couldn't do enough for us. There's a pool table too, and the pub has lovely little rooms that are enticingly cosy. Downside is the access for people with a disability. Not the fault of the establishment, but it's because of the hilly place it's situated in. Plenty of steps to negotiate once you've climbed up the hill from the car park. There are 2 disabled spots just inside the gate so you can walk to the front door but beware that the footpath at roadside is uneven. But, once inside its lovely and welcoming. And we weren't rushed to finish and leave., perfect. Another word of warning, the ladies loo is down a single flight of stairs from the restaurant, whereas the gents are on the same floor.

Best eatery for a vegan and gluten free. Fantastic vegan menu options and if you are gluten free too. A real gem, place to go for a relaxing laid back atmosphere. The fire was roaring when we got there and we had a 3 course meal that was so delicious. So much choice for me being vegan and not just mains and starters I had a lovely homemade crumble. Desserts are usually non existent for vegans. Not here. The couple who own this place were so lovely and welcoming, we left feeling like friends which is exactly what their website boasts. The breakfast was so good and was perfect for an overnight stay. If you want a romantic night away and a relaxing time with friends it's perfect. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

We arrived at the Sycamore Inn for an overnight stay. Although it's fairly rural, it's got everything you need for a short stay. ||We stayed in room 3 which had all we needed for our nights stay. The bed and pillows were super comfy and everywhere looked clean.||The bathroom was clean, my only very slight criticism was the shower. It was a mixer and you had to gauge the temperature with a little fiddling with the hot and cold tap. Although this wasn't anything major to do. ||Although when we went it was very quiet, and I had a very good night's sleep, we were disturbed in the morning by people talking outside our room that connected to the stairs to the main pub where the bar and restaurant was situated. Although I suppose you can get this anywhere you stay. ||As the Inn is situated very close to trails it is ideal as a good base. There was a leaflet in the room giving instructions of 3 walks that can be done from there. We did walk 2 and it was very well instructed.||The hosts were very accommodating and very friendly. The breakfast is ordered the night before and well worth the money. All fresh and tasty. Vegetarian options too.||We ate in the restaurant and the food was reasonably priced and delicious and again, fresh quality. Another major plus point for stayers or visitors is you can take your dog in both the pub and restaurant. There were water bowels and doggy treats too.||Overall, our one night stay was extremely pleasurable and if we are in the area again, we would certainly call back. Would recommend a visit to The...

My husband and I stayed at the Sycamore Inn for a long weekend with our dog and I can honestly say they were absolutely wonderful. We cannot recommend them enough, and hope to go back soon. Some people just have that knack of making you feel as though you have always known them, just so warm, interesting and easy to talk to. It is in a really beautiful peaceful setting with so many wonderful places to explore and Sammy was very helpful on local activities. Also the food was delicious and the portions were very generous, unlike London eateries!

Some places say they are dog friendly, but these people were incredibly welcoming to our little nervous rescue dog. We felt so relieved to be somewhere that felt like a home from home for him as it was his first time away with us. I will always be grateful for their kindness to him.

I suppose what it boils down to is that some people see running a restaurant and hotel as a job, but these people are a genuinely lovely family who put their heart and soul in to the business, and it really does show. We honestly felt like we'd been staying with friends for the weekend. We noticed that all the regulars that we met were incredibly chatty and down to earth, and I'm sure they were drawn to this place because of the lovely atmosphere. Thank you and hope to see...
