As supermarket cafes go, Morrisons case in Hinckley is by far the best, it’s really big, well presented and they do pretty good food at competitive prices, it’s far more pleasant to have a meal in than the ASDA cafe in Hinckley. They also do a really nice selection of cakes, my favourite being the lumpy bumpy cake, which is pictured below, it’s so good, if you see one, try it! One of the nicest cakes I’ve had and it was from Morrisons!

So we came in yesterday I was pretty excited because I remember the cafe being nice and hadn't been for about a decade. I ordered sausage and mash which comes with sausage, mash, peas and gravey but I asked for no peas. Two of my mates had an English breakfast, one asked for no mushrooms and my other mate got the pancakes. The pancakes were the only thing with no issues. Food arrives, she puts friend ones breakfast down and says breakfast with no eggs and I go NO EGGS? Because I thought he was just a weirdo who had no eggs, turns out for some reason they read no mushrooms understood that and then decided somehow he'd also ordered no eggs, breakfast two is just missing all the bread so my mate asks for this to be corrected, woman is like oh sorry ofc ill grab you some eggs and bread. She comes back and I've been enjoying my first sausage and talking with my friends, she gives us the correct stuff and all is well. Then I try my mash, it's ICE COLD not even luke warm, I dig with my fork to the centre of the mash, same thing, completely cold, sausages still piping hot though which is confusing, I was just so sad and tired and hungry I didn't even try the gravey, my mate politely asks if they can do something about the mash, she takes the whole plate away which has the gravey pot on it so then I made a joke to my friends that the gravey is gonna be freezing when it comes back and I should have checked it. Food comes back, sausages and mash nice and hot and I'm happy, then I go to pick up my gravey...the gravey did not return with the plate? The mash is tastey but it is DRY like you need gravey or beans to eat it, so my mate politely says hey the gravey didn't come back can you quickly go get it please. I never got the gravey back, I just ate the sausages and left because the mash was so dry it was really hard to swallow. My friends seem to have thoroughly enjoy their...

Having moved away from the area a few years ago, myself and my wife were back to visit family. We used to shop regularly in the shop and had used the cafe several times in the past. We decided to have the fried breakfast that were on offer 2 for ÂŁ12. Placed the order on the screen and paid for it and my wife went off to find a table. I got us both a coffee and paid the lady on the till and got 2 clean cups. One of the coffee machines was out of order and the only working one wasn't able to dispense any other drink than a latte coffee. Machine took a while and the coffee wasn't very warm but as there was a queue, I couldn't be bothered to ask for a fresh drink so I just pre warned the waiting customers that the coffee wasn't very hot. My wife had to play musical tables and chairs as the floor around the tables and chairs had crumbs of food laying everywhere and most of the wooden tables were sticky and had dried on food on them. Not a good start and when the lady arrived with the food, the plates hadn't been warmed up and the food didn't look appetising. Food was warmish but not very hot and as the cafe was very busy I couldn't be bothered to complain. This experience has not been good and I'm afraid this will be our last visit to the cafe. One bonus is the unlimited refills of hot drinks but as the machines were not working properly, this did not materialise. We had a breakfast previous to this at the Morrisons cafe near Blackpool a few months ago and this was superb and couldn't fault the...

The food was extremely poor. There were also massive flys around the cakes and savoury foods, sandwiches and toasties. We had to ask for the table to be cleaned. My macaroni cheese turned out to be tinned macaroni cheese, so asked for a jacket potatoe instead. . This was bought out in seconds and had gone hard as it had been reheated. Used to enjoy a meal in the cafe at morrisons but the place is now filthy the staff are minimal and not that helpful. And the food standards were appalling. Also management were notified about the flies and all management did was removed 2 trays of savoury and cakes from the shelf and then left the rest there. Absolutely disgusting. Please note would not of eaten there if we knew about the flies before hand. This was all in-between re ordering different foods then noticing flies and the dirt. Place needs closing down. Food and hygiene needs to something...
