Oddfellows arms — Restaurant in Horsham

We visited as this pub is less than a minute walk from where we were staying the night before getting married - we wondered in and grabbed a pint and ordered an early dinner expecting some typical pub grub.

Honestly - the food was amazing. We ordered a gammon egg and chips to share, some hummus and pitta, cheddar and corn fritters and some pork belly - we cannot fault any of it

The gammon was perfect, the chips potentially the best chips we’ve had in a really long time. The hummus - fresh and homemade with jalapeños added - SO nice. The pork belly melted in the mouth. All made with such care as well.

Greeted by a friendly face with a list of foods we couldn't have. Thought we were being quite simple with a pizza, pork belly & liver. Waited over an hour to be told no mashed potato only chips, which we agreed ok it arrived 20 mins later. Pizza looked & tasted great but luke warm on a cold plate. Pork was fab like a small joint with good crackling. Veg was poor, limp & small portion. Liver was pan fried small medallions with a piece of back bacon on top, not braised in onions as suggested. Went for what I thought was going to be a nice lunch with a friend, both got a burger each with chips, food was bland, bread rolls tasted of mould and throughout trying to eat all you could hear was the chef in the kitchen shouting, using foul language and burping, owner walking around the pub as if it was normal and allowing it to happen knowing full well there were customers inside...
