Chocolate-box-picture Inn with fair amount of parking. Interesting inside but a conservationist might be horrified that the oak beams are gloss-painted grey. We'd had variable reports of the food but thought we'd try it again, having not visited for 2 to 3 years. Friendly young staff dutifully wearing masks. Limited menu with pre-ordained combinations. Sea Bass comes with deep-fried Brussels sprouts and chips! My wife loves Sea Bass (and we'd heard it was good) but hates sprouts, so chose the crispy duck salad. It came as a green mound on a white plate! Duck was OK but the salad was close to what my Mum used to call "Honeymoon Salad" - lettuce alone! And we had to ask for dressing. Yellow Thai curry had lots of tender chicken leg meat but was uninspiringly bland. Portions are good which is all some people may want. Ordered wine after having to upload wine-list onto mobile 'phone. As before, bottle was dumped on the table and we had to open, taste, and serve it ourselves. Ice cream came as one (expensive!) blob in a small earthenware dish that might double as an ashtray, without a wafer or...

Stopped off on the way home from the coast on the off chance that they still were serving food - 2.30 on a Sunday - and that they are dog friendly ... happily both were a yes ... the better half plumped for the standard posh burger, the boy a Sunday roast - offered a half portion, which was still more than enough for a hungry pre-teen, and I went for the cauliflower steak veggie sunday roast option ... place was quite packed when we arrived, so expecting a wait, but nonetheless the friendly staff went out their way to keep us updated and it's not exactly a terrible place to have to spend time in ... all happy with their choices when they arrived ... the better half particulary happy with her home-fries and the boy and I were suitably impressed with the Yorkshire puds ... lovely staff, great food, next time we aim to spend a bit longer, as for us it's around the half way point to the coast ... only issues were regrets at having driven past so...

Very disappointed 😔 my daughter had eaten here when she came on holiday last year and loved it, so much so she booked it for my 60th birthday as we are having a family holiday here this year. Well what a difference a year makes. After waiting over an hour for are roast dinner they first brought out 2 plates 10 minutes before the rest of our meals, so obviously theirs got cold, no apologies. The roast itself was nice apart from the gravy which had a strange sweetish taste and cauliflower cheese which also had a strange taste, both did not taste very nice, so obviously ruined the rest of the dinner. My daughter had halloumi burger, the avocado inside was vile never tasted anything like it not sure what they had done to it, just a heads up perhaps ask for the avocado part to be separate from the bun. Such a shame as very nice pub but not...

Came here to meet a friend on a Saturday afternoon as it was roughly halfway between us. It was the first time we'd been. As it was a lovely day, we opted to sit outside. There was a canopy over some of the seating area -perfect for shade lovers. We both wanted a light bite so we for sandwiches. I had the beef brisket toastie with chips. It was one of the most incredible pub lunches I've ever had! The toastie was FILLED with beef, the sourdough bread was divine and the chips were delicious! I couldn't finish it all and couldn't even find room for dessert 😭 When the bill came, I was honestly shocked. For the brilliant service, quality and amount of food, I'd expected it to be a lot higher! I'll definitely be recommending the Fox Inn to local friends and hopefully meeting my friend here again soon so I can try the treacle tart I desperately wanted!

It has taken a long long time to find a pub that serves a Sunday roast worth recommending. At the Fox Inn it was perfect. We hadn't booked so it was a chance we took and it paid off. Next time we go we are definitely booking so we are not Disappointed. We arrived about 20 minutes after it opened and after we sat down it was a steady stream of people arriving. Definitely pre book if you can. The menu was a good mixture but I had the chicken breast roast and we also ordered the lamb roast. The food arrived in about 10 to 15 minutes. The food tasted great. Veg wasn't overcooked and the gravy was just right. Its the closest I've tried that matched home cooking. Thanks to the staff and we will be returning.

What a great find for a Sunday roast! We stumbled across this pub on a drive over to Winkworth Arboretum. I tried to book online but it was past 3 o’clock so we just turned up on the off chance the kitchen was still open. We turned up at 3:30 and they were still serving roasts and they were still very busy but sorted a table for us. I had roast lamb and my husband had the mixed meat roast and they were delicious and meat was tender. They do half sized roasts for children, so my daughter had roast chicken. Desert was a sticky toffee pudding for me and apple crumble for my husband. Highly recommend
