I booked a table for 5 people for 2pm thinking it would be quiet. Wrong, it was packed and the staff seem to be in a muddle. When we got our table there was a chair missing, only four seats. Nobody came to take any orders, so we asked for a menu. Eventually they came for our drinks order. That took a while to get them and after some more time they came for our meal order. As I am Coeliac I asked what was available in Gluten free. The normal menu is very limited and the Gluten free even more so. We gave our order for food and after waiting for over an hour with no apology for the delay at all, I asked a waitress how much longer our meals would be. A short time later the waitress came back and said there was one more before us and it would be another 15 minutes, making our wait time almost 90 minutes. At this point I'm afraid I lost my temper, which I have to say I have never ever felt a need to do so in a public place before. This place is a joke, they must have taken far too many bookings for the staff they had there, both in the kitchen and serving staff. I would NOT recommend going there at all and can't understand how they have...

Lovely food, awful service. We went after booking a table for mothers day. Was told we were late, even though they previously called to confirm time (in fact they had got the time wrong by 3 hours). We had to go and ask multiple times for someone to take our drink & food orders, although we were told very snappily to go and sit down. Even had to remind them to bring our drinks over after they had been sitting on the bar for 5 minutes. Only when they had people waiting for tables did they start to work with a bit of urgency, as if they couldn't get us out the door fast enough. Better service from the chefs who came to clear our table and bring our dessert out. That aside, the food was lovely. We all had a roast which was cooked very well (the chicken didn't come with Yorkshires, although the menu clearly stated it did). The desserts were a dark chocolate mousse and sticky toffee pudding, both amazing and...

I had the pleasure of visiting The Wheatsheaf Pub, and I couldn't wait to share my experience with you. From the moment we stepped inside, I was captivated by its charming and inviting atmosphere. The tasteful decor, adorned with rustic wooden accents and warm earth tones, creates an ambiance that is both cozy and elegant.

During our visit for lunch, I was delighted by the diverse menu options available. The impeccable execution of flavors left me craving for more. The attention to detail truly shined through each dish they presented.

What impressed me even more was the attentive service we received, even during the bustling lunch hours. The staff at The Wheatsheaf went above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcomed and well taken care of.

I am already eagerly planning my next visit to The Wheatsheaf for dinner, as I can only imagine the culinary wonders that await me...

Had a fabulous Easter Sunday roast. Great plate: generous slices of beef, lots of veg (8 different veggies!) perfectly cooked, creamy cauliflower cheese, extra gravy for the table. Friendly and attentive staff. Had a great chat with the owner/manager who's recently taken the place over. We got there before 12, so had a country walk on a public footpath that starts at the pub.

Had a family meal hear and the food and service was excellent!! The vegi burger was amazing and the batter on the fish was so light and tasted amazing. The gardens quite plesent but the playground could do with some work. Staff were very friendly and even had a chat and treated us like people and not just a number. The only draw back is the lack of parking, which is a shame.
