We decided to book the Windmill over the other accommodation that our wedding party were staying at as we had stayed last year (in room 4) and everything was great. Unfortunately, this time we can't say the same. We travelled 250 miles for the wedding and it was very kind of Dave to allow us early access to the room to get ready. We were disappointed upon our return to find that not only had our room be left unlocked (we had locked it) but it was also open. All of our belongings were in the room. Also the shower had pubic hair and dirt left in the bottom of it making us wonder if it had actually been cleaned. Upon arriving home from the wedding we decided to have a nightcap in the bar, it was approx 10pm. We sat down the far end away from everyone else as we were not made to feel particularly welcome. The language used by a couple of the people in the bar was not very pleasant (using the C word) and the female bar staff talking about the state of peoples marriages in the village did not do much to help especially when the lights were being turned off and she plopped herself on the seat by the fire and they kept turning around to look at myself and husband making us feel quite uncomfortable that we left our drinks and returned to the room. The door to the cupboard housing the linen was also left open and as we departed the door at the bottom of the stairs to room 5 (which is tricky to get in and out of so beware) flung back and hit my husband. I am so sorry this visit was not as good as the last and we will not...

£112 paid, for a damp garage room, that we felt we couldn't sleep in.|When we asked for a different room, we were refused, as they were fully booked, which we understood||Joshua the barman, came and agreed with our concerns and checked with the 'off duty' manager upstairs, [who made no effort to speak with us personally] and assured us that as no money had been taken from the credit card by them, to speak with Booking.com directly. |After doing this a short while later, after finding alternative accommodation, we were told that the Windmill Inn HAD indeed already taken our room cost from the card. Booking.com would contact the Inn to request the refund. Which has now been refused, with no further explanation..... SHAME ON YOU WINDMILL INN.||See photos - Wet skirting board, damp carpeting. Sealed window, with ivy, spiders web and dirt. DAMP BEDDING, mouldy bed cushion. Wet/filthy carpet etc etc||Even from being in the space for a short while, both my partner and i felt our hair and skin were damp from the atmosphere and knew we would have been quite unwell sleeping in such a damp bed etc..... ||We had been looking forward to our visit to this Inn, but from our experience of the lack of interest or care at the time, and the non refunding of the money dishonestly taken, [as we were told that no money had been taken - we would never recommend this establishment and still can't believe that this is an acceptable way to...

Booked direct and stayed for one night only and in fairness the Landlord did say it was his last available room right up in the attic. It was extremely hot.||The light in the bathroom didn't work, blown bulb? One of the draught beers was off and was duly exchanged for a different one.||My wife's Katsu curry looked suspiciously like a Chicken Schnitzel (also on the menu) covered in tinned curry sauce and served with luke warm (reheated rice?) Other diners with the same choice were also very unhappy.||Continental Breakfast.|Seemed to consist of cornflakes and other cereals. Long life Croissants and Pain au Chocolat of indeterminate age sealed in individual plastic wrappers. Various cereal snack bars. Do your own toast. Make your own tea and coffee and get juice from the fridge. No cold meats, cheeses or eggs that one normally sees for a "continental breakfast" The piece de la resistance was the rotten fruit in the fruit bowl. Plums, nectarines and apples all showing signs of age related rot and mould maybe a couple of weeks old. Mentioned this to the landlord whose only reaction was to say Oh, that's not very good. || We just had coffee and left.||We are not usually given to complaining but in this case we make the exception. Our bill for room and food was just shy of £200 and apart from the location definately not...

It's always a risk booking a place on the Internet. With The Windmill Inn, we needn't have worried. The rooms were lovely, the staff were so friendly and their menu was great (even for a vegetarian). The pub itself is lovely, with a quiet country setting, surrounded by fields (and a few houses, wouldn't mind living opposite this pub), the atmosphere was cosy and everything you want from a country pub, without being cheesy. There's a nice beer garden, complete with two outside shelters and car park out front. The rooms were lovely; we booked three ensuite rooms, including what I would call the penthouse (had the biggest bed I've ever seen) and the family room: a double bedroom and twin room, within a suite, including ensuite bathroom. Breakfast is plentiful (continental during the week) and relaxed (any time, help yourself). The staff were so helpful: our TV had no sound. The staff were so apologetic and spent ages trying to sort it. We all had to give up (we put the subtitles on); there were apologies, offers of free drinks and the promise of a new TV the next day. They were a good as their word... though it turned out the previous occupant had done something very strange with the settings, so they took the new TV back. We had a lovely stay and would happily go back.

A fantastic place to go and eat of an evening! Would definitely recommend! Although it is a little out of the way of everything it is a great little place to come to for a lovely meal or just a few drinks 🍺 The prices are very fair as we ordered two Pizzas three alcoholic drinks (doubles and a glass of house red) and more sides then you could possibly eat and the total bill came to a scrape over £70 for a lovely meal and plenty of booze. There is just about enough parking outside if people park courteously however you would only come here if you know it. They have a plot of land at the back of the pub/ restaurant which holds horses and you can get very close to the wildlife here while your enjoying your meal. They have outside seating and you can always reserve and eat your meal outside under the gazebo by the heaters which is lovely to do. I would highly recommend the pizza 🍕 This pub is family friendly and it may have a few locals in there but you feel very welcome by the staff and guests. It makes for a great little venue. Come here is you are in the local area and want some great pub grub! In my personal opinion it is the nicest pub in Partridge Green.

Staff are lovely and very helpful. It was our wedding anniversary and for dinner they set the table with heart confetti and a anniversary card, which was a lovely touch. We stayed in room 5 at the top, clean and nicely decorated. Be careful of your head. Bed was 2 beds put together wasn’t the most comfortable of beds. Small wardrobe perfect for T-shirts and trousers, not long dresses. Shower gel dispensers on wall of shower. Breakfast was help yourself continental. There was a problem with my food and the staff where very quick to sort out the problem.
