Visited the Black Bull today after reserving lunch at Willows cafe but we soon found out they stopped serving hot meals in April so needed to find somewhere quickly for our party of 3 and stumbled upon the Black bull a real gem to be honest, large car park and huge beer garden and lovely patio., we ordered drinks and was given some menus including todays special menu, the special menu seem very overpriced and not that interesting but I guess that’s a personal view point. Decided upon the Royal Blue burger that comes with chips and coleslaw and a selection of sauces presented on a wooden chopping board.

Service was very slow and the waitress did forget to come back a few times but in fairness it was her first day and she was learning the ropes so clearly that can be forgiven .

The burger tasted lovely and cooked to perfection ( congratulations to the chef) for dessert I went with the fruit crumble and it was probably the nicest crumble I have ever tasted.

I wanted to give five stars but the reason I took one star off is not because of the slow service but the male waiter/bar staff smoking on the patio in front of guests, I’m a smoker myself so smoking does not bother me however I feel it’s unprofessional to be smoking in front of customers especially in a food environment where you are the one bringing food to customers, this is just constructive feedback and not looking to get the young guy in trouble.

Will definitely return again for a meal and look forward to tasting more...

Excellent! I've lived in Brampton for 6 years and never eaten here, only visited for a drink. I wish I had gone sooner. The service from our waitress, sorry forgot to ask your name but you've only been there 3 weeks, was excellent. Friendly smile, attentive and chatty. The food was memorable and of an excellent quality. Really enjoyed it. I am always sceptical of restaurants these days as there seen to be so many bad ones. And there is never any consistency with the food. Having only eaten here once I will reserve judgement on the consistency until the next visit but if I say I will go back then that's a good start! There were 4 in our party. We had 3 starters, 4 main meals, 3 deserts, 2 Cokes, 4 pints of beer and 2 medium wines. Bill was £78. We thought that was excellent value. It was bank holiday Monday and the atmosphere was good. Music hardly audible but at least it wasn't deafening. Children are welcome as are dogs in the bar side. So if you don't like eating in the bar area with dogs present you need to ask for a table in the restaurant side which I believe they have but I didn't see. They also have a huge garden area and I have been here for bonfire night and live music nights in the past. It's a lovely garden for the summer. So I would definitely recommend a visit! Nice to have a decent restaurant in the village that isn't too expensive and has some great food and...

AMAZING! Last week we went to the Black Bull at Godmanchester, and this week we went to the Black Bull at Brampton - what a complete difference! Our experience at the Black Bull at Godmanchester was nothing short of terrible - the Black Bull at Brampton was everything we hoped and more, blew us away and exceeded our expectations. The waiting staff were an absolute delight, efficient, attentive, the food was out of this world and the presentation was amazing. One of the owners, Michael, came and ensured that everything was brilliant and the ambience was nothing short of welcoming and lovely - thank you to Michael and the staff, you were all wonderful. It was such a pleasant experience and no amount of words can summarise how amazing it was. The best restaurant we have been to in years and would definitely recommend! We will 100% be returning. Restaurant was so busy (not surprising given how superb the restaurant is), so would recommend to book in advance. Also lovely to see dog friendly, it has a beautiful garden area as well so would be great to go...

The Black Bull at Brampton is a traditional village pub located in the village of Brampton. It's been around since the 16th century, and it has a great reputation for its freshly cooked meals. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and they have a vibrant beer selection to choose from. I recently visited The Black Bull in the week to meet a work colleague for lunch. We were greeted by the friendly staff and shown to our table right away. The menu had plenty of options to choose from, including delicious starters, mains and desserts. We decided to try the Chilli chicken, ploughman's plater and chocolate mousse - all of which were absolutely delicious! To top it off, we also enjoyed some delicious cold white wine while we chatted away. Overall, we had an amazing experience at The Black Bull at Brampton. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this pub for anyone looking for a cozy spot with good food and drinks!
