Man on the Moon — Restaurant in Ipswich

Unfortunately today I visited and I had pre booked our table 3 days previously. I arrived with my son 10 minutes earlier than our booking time. We ordered our drinks, we were waiting for my husband, son and my Mother In Law to arrive. When they arrived we went to order our food only to be told that a party of 10 ladies who had pre ordered their food in advance were priority and waiting time was 1hr 30 minutes. My husband and I were not impressed by this at all. So he approached a member of staff to complain and all he got was you should have ordered your food when you arrived at 11.50am. We were not told there was a big party due in at 12.15pm. But this obviously didn't matter to them as blamed us for not ordering on arrival. We'll we subsequently bolted our drinks down and left in disgust at this service and treatment of how this issue was handled. We really enjoyed our Fish And Chips from the Chippy up the road instead at home. This is our local pub that we always visit, but we won't be visiting anytime soon unless we get better service and an apology for how we were treated. We walked in, sat down for 20mins deciding what food to order, mind you we are all over 22 years old we went to the bar to order food and soft drinks we were immediately very rudely asked for our id by a man name Sean , we then said that we only wanted food not alcohol he was very rudely and stated we could not be in the establishment without id we asked as to y and if this has always been a rule as we come here often and have never had this issue, he said it has always been a rule which is a lie we were rudely made to leave this is an establishment that allows children in the building there were many there at the time and it was only 7 in the evening, there was not even a chance to order before he rudely jumped down our throats, we did however befriend a very nice girl named dj who kindly apologised for his frankly horrible behaviour, so if u do for some ungodly reason go to this pub...

A great pub with great staff and excellent food and drinks NORMALLY booked a certain table in October for a meal for Christmas two nights due to COVID party of six had to be three always been looked after by assistant manager nice lady Tonight arrived met by bubbly host who said we cant sit at the table we requested as the owners had moved us as they where going to sit at that table so we got put on a table in a dark corner but I had rang the pub the day before and they confirmed we where on the table asked for so we sat in the corner had ok food with great service and value for money I was willing to put this behind me until we left to see 3 people sitting at the table not the owners we had requested and no sign of food !!!!!! The same thing on wed when we ate we have tried to support the pub but seems rules for one and not the other Shame nice pub...
