Bushel & Strike — Restaurant in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Decided not to stay and eat. Arrived with family with intention of having a meal, after seeing empty car park and menu signs by road, we thought we wouldn't need to book a table. But were then told there was only one chef so may not want to cook for us. Then told we could eat but we wouldn't get our dinners all at same time. Told to push 2 tables together ourselves and eat in main bar with the only 2 customers there trying to watch TV instead of sitting us in other room which would have been alot nicer. Kids were told the wouldn't be allowed to play Pool so started to feel it wasn't family friendly. Atmosphere was pretty dull and uninviting really so we left before ordering as the 'Always Warm Welcome' sign we noted on arrival seemed like a mistake. Not really the place for a holiday meal...

I’m on holiday with my girlfriend and 2 children 7 and 8. We came in for some food and while we were waiting to order just looking at the menu I see they had a pool table so I put a pound in and the man behind the bar shouted out sorry kids are not allowed to play on the pool table so I said oh ok no problem,then we were sitting/standing next to the pool table and the gentleman behind the bar came over and said can you move away from the pool table to my 8 year old son and did that hand gesture when you shoo something away like he was a animal or something so obviously after that we left. It was a shame that this happened because I had really good memories of this place when I was a boy...

Needed a place for Sunday dinner on our long weekend stay in Heacham. Found this wonderful pub on Saturday lunchtime and after spending an hour in Steve and Karen’s very friendly and welcoming company, oh, and Peppers too, we booked for the Sunday dinner. A very welcoming pub that we were instantly made to feel welcome in. Pleasant atmosphere and a homely feel made it an excellent choice. We turned up Sunday and it was a really nice touch that Steve remembered my name from the day before’s visit. Sunday roast was very nice indeed. Service was quick and efficient. Cost wise it was very reasonable. Will definitely make a return visit if we go back to Heacham...
