I met up with a friend I hadn't seen for a while so it much much more than a quick coffee. We were served fast and we found a seat. In total we had 3 rounds of drinks. It was really clean but we had an encounter with a staff member who was completely oblivious to causing so much noise and disruption that she did ruin a peaceful coffee for quite a few customers. I checked the opening times on google and it said they closed at 7pm but mid afternoon she was hoovering and mopping the floor. Firstly we thought it was a messy table and thought it will stop on a minute but the lady carried on all the way down one side. They have heavy chairs here and the lady was scraping them along the ground making an awful racket, hoovering up with a Henry hoover then mopping the floor and sides with a mop. 2 other customers commented to us about how loud it was. I didnt comment until the lady got right behind us and started hoovering. I did say " I'm sorry but are you closing soon?" She replied that "no, we just have to keep up with the covid cleaning every 2 hours" I did then comment that she was being really loud and she just said she's nearly finished. I'm really surprised that it was a covid clean considering she wasn't wiping down the tables and it did seem like she was getting ahead on the end of day clean. I'm really surprised this was going on when there were quite a few people in, trying to have conversations. Me and my friend were talking louder just to hear each other and we were sat opposite each other. When they said it couldn't be done I was confused as it's been done for me at other Costa's and I explained I have cold urticaria or 'an allergy to the cold' I was treated in a disgusting manner. Not only was my allergy questioned it was treated like a joke and the person asking made it obvious she thought I was lying. If it had been explained to me that they, despite others doing so, could not adapt the drink for me I would have understood but to treat a valid condition this way because you don't know of it is revolting. As a DEIB Specialist I know they need to do better. I might also note, I'd just spent several minutes clearing their tables to help ease them as they were understaffed and we're getting concerned about the lack of seating. Hell of a thank you...

I waited assuming that she was still "serving" them, but by the gist of the conversation, it was a no and the nattering continued.
