Very disappointing experience all round here. We stayed at the local titchwell manor hotel and loved it and saw that they recommended Eric's pizza. I have 3 young kids (5 and 3yo twins) and they love pizza so I thought this would be perfect after a day at the beach before we head home back to Northampton. I was shocked to see there was an hour wait for food but it was obviously busy so we let it go. Just before the hour was up (as kids do), one of the twins had done a poo and needed changing. My husband took her to the disabled toilet which was absolutely DISGUSTING. The smell in there was vile to the point my 3yo commented, and the changing area had a mat that could only be described as rancid and fit for the bin. It was stained brown and had obviously not been cleaned ever. My husband decided to turn it over in case the other side was a bit cleaner only to discover an actual fully intact poo that had been left to fester under the mat. After gagging he decided he couldn't change our daughter there and ended up taking her to the car where he changed her in the boot. If they can't keep the toilets clean it makes you start questioning the hygiene of the rest of the place!! Hubby got back to the table and the pizza STILL wasn't ready. We ended up actually waiting about an hour and 15, it was well past the kids bed time and they were starving and ratty when the pizza was ready. After my husband collected it (there is no table service) we saw one of the kids pizza's was completely burnt to a crisp it was completely inedible. I'm surprised they thought this was acceptable to serve. I understand woodfired but this was completely black. The other pizzas all had more sauce than topping. At this late stage there was zero point trying to find a staff member to complain to as it was we were already not getting home until midnight and after the toilet situation it had completely put us off the entire place we just wanted to get out. Overall a very disappointing experience after high expectations for a recommendation from a place we've loved and been to many times over the years. We wouldn't go back to...

We live locally and have visited Eric’s pizza frequently in the past and truly enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and food were always great too. Unfortunately, it seems that the place has gone downhill with awful customer service, rude waiters and serving burnt food! We’ve gone to eat in a couple of weeks ago on Friday for early dinner (4.30pm). The yurt was pretty empty with only two small tables occupied. We ordered a drink as soon as we sat down and wanted to have a few minutes to enjoy this before ordering food, as most people would do when going out to eat. As soon as our drinks arrived, a waitress showed up and asked for our food order. We said that we weren’t quite ready yet, and she asked ‘how long will you need’ in a very rude manner. I don’t know whether people don’t realise this, but when one eats out, they do not want to feel like they’re on a stop watch! Quite shocked, we replied that we would let someone know when we wanted to order our food, but felt really uncomfortable after this, so thought it may be nicer to sit outside instead and were told when ordering drinks that we could order pizza from the restaurant even if sitting outside. Only a few minutes later, this turned out not to be the case as we were refused our order and were told to order from takeaway section outside. It took over an hour for our food to arrive as the place got flooded with summer tourists very quickly. Following this experience, we decided not to eat in again. However, having been in the area today we decided to get couple of pizzas to take home. We thought, what could go wrong with that? Well, see attached photo of the burnt pizza that’s basically inedible. I think it’s safe to say that we won’t be tempted to pay visit to this place ever...

Really want to like this place, but it’s confused and uninviting. When we rocked up we had to join a queue and because there was no FOH, everyone in the queue was working out who was here for what (tables/booking/collection)so we didn’t just jump ahead as we didn’t know where we really needed to be.

Annoyingly we booked earlier in the day for an 8pm collection, but the person at the desk just said without apology it won’t be ready on time. It’s frustrating as to book you give them all your contact information
such a shame a little text/ email/ call to tell you this

We perched at the end of the bar with a drink and on reflection takeout was the best option as everyone sat just looked bored with waiting at tables.

The place is in desperate need of more staff, better signage and improved communication- (imagine if you just put in the email order acknowledgment ‘when you get here, head straight to the bar at the far end of the yurt and we’ll get you sorted’)or if they can’t invest in staff, some technology in place to help with queue v small space - buzzers etc.

The pizza is good and deserves to be sought after
but this has made the whole place feel arrogant which detracts from the experience; great food needs great service and I think Eric’s has...

Got to give it to the young people running service tonight because they were smashing out pizzas and the quality was on point. We had a bit of a wait for our order, but knowing how difficult it is making pizzas from scratch, along with managing the temperature of the oven and any dietary requirements and changes, we didn’t mind! Bravo! The atmosphere was great. Perfect background music and the Drove Orchard Cider was fabulous (first time trying and bought two cans to take home!) It was half price pizza for anyone dining in, which is probably why it was so busy! Other reason is probably because the pizza is so god damn amazing!!! (We had a No. 2 and No.4)

We discovered this fantastic gem whist holidaying nearby in Heacham... 'twas Friday evening and we hadn't booked so sadly no room in the yurt 😒 but.... plenty of outside eating space which meant we could also keep an eye on our youngsters who were loving the play area. Great vibe and busy... which meant that the wait for our pizzas was long! More than 40 minutes.. but when we opened up our boxes, we were NOT disappointed. Quite possibly the tastiest pizzas ever and we were especially appreciative to have had a plant-based option. The younger ones ate from Eric's Fish 'n' Chips...equally tasty. Nice one! 😁
