Arrived 7.15 for 7.30 reservation taken straight to table ordered, food arrived, o.k. but nothing exceptional. Plates barely cleared when I noticed Angelo pointing in our direction. Waitress came and asked if we would like to see the dessert menu, duly ordered sweet and another drink. Angelo appeared from kitchen went to the bar and again started gesturing in our direction, we were then approached by Claudia and asked if we would move to another table at the other end of restaurant to enable them to set a table for six using our table and an empty foursome next to us, I asked what was the point of booking if your asked to move before finishing your meal, to which I was rather curtly told to stay put. Sweet and drink arrived which we ate and drank as quickly as possible. Whilst my husband was paying I asked the party of ladies when they booked. It transpires we both booked the previous week, so what possesses a restaurant to place a twosome at 7.30 right where they want to seat 6 at 8.00, from the moment we arrived till the time we left an empty table for 4 was right behind us, could we not have been given that from the start or asked to move to that one rather than one at other end of room carrying coats, handbag, glasses of wine. This is the first time we have eaten drunk and left within 65 minutes. First visit...
Read moreNewly opened restaurant in Downham Market, it doesn't have a vast menu but does have well chosen dishes that are prepared and delivered to your table in a nice quick fashion. You definitely need to book a table as this place is proving very popular with the locals. Whilst the three of us were getting toward the end of our meal we remarked on the party of six women standing at the bar waiting for their table to come free, probably the same party Geoffrey mentions in his review, our meal was booked for 7pm on Friday 18th Jan. We did half wonder if we would be asked to hurry up or move somewhere else so that our small table could be added to the 4 seater that was free near us but we were left alone. The larger party on a 6 seater table that were well into their meal as we arrived were still there when we left, I guess table seating and planned meal times don't always go as planned. The 6 women at the bar didn't seem all that put out though so probably most people enjoyed their evening out here...

Imagine spending a wonderful evening by the sea after a long voyage. As you disembark from your trusted vessel, you can feel the strange, yet calming warmth in the air. You smell the welcoming seawater as you are wrapped in subtle hints of lemon as you settle down and enjoy an exciting, surprising, but relaxing array of fireworks inviting you to slow down to enjoy life in the present. Culminate it with the unyielding comfort of fresh sheets and the warmth of blankets on your bed combating your weariness as you head into the night to rest, in recuperation and in predictive anticipation of the sun rising again on the next day.
I essentially described the experience of the symphony of flavors conjured by Mejillones al Vapor, Spigolla Olive e Capperi, and the Blueberry Panna Cotta in this restaurant's 3 course meal.
I'm no food critic. And I'm not into seafood. But they made me see seafood in a new light. The food here is divine. 10/10...
