Our first visit to Grants, we found the greeting and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Good variety of traditional English dishes and desserts. We enjoyed our starters, and could not believe how much fresh vegetables arrived with our mains. My husband had chosen a pie which covered his plate; I had the salmon, which was a large piece too. We enjoyed every mouthful and only just managed to eat it all. I had the Classic Prawn cocktail followed by Lasagne. My lovely wife of 47 years had the prawn cocktail followed by a Beef and Ale pie. All was lovely. My wife commented that the pie was one of the best she had tasted. We were there at lunch time during Covid Covid restrictions so not many people in the restaurant. Read moreFirst time, in a long time, there was nothing to complain about except, perhaps, the portions were really generous. I had the roast which was pork, tender and succulent. Side vegetables were cabbage carrots, green beans, cauliflower cheese and crispy fluffy roast potatoes. Add to this a good sized Yorkshire pud and home made apple sauce! Need I say more?
Hubby chose chicken in a garlic and bacon cream sauce with a good side salad and hand cut chips. He thoroughly enjoyed it and just wasn't able to finish all the chips and salad. He was a happy man.
