My husband had a reservation on Saturday evening for two. We went there, We've been sat to our table. First of all no Covid precautions. No antibacterial by the entrance plus one of the waiters exactly the one whoo took our order and took care of us wasnt wearing mask at all. My side plate i had on the table was dirty(full of grease), my husband asked to be replced. When I opended the menu was full of fingerprints grease plus some pieces of onion on the plastified pages. So cleaness and protection against Covid, 0. He took our order ( two Garlic naan , rice, I ordered some paneer with sauce. My husband ordered a chicken dish with sauce( dont remember the name). We've been told that they will be medium spiced. I can eat very spicy. We received the garlic naans after 10 min after all the other food My dish was medium spiced how the waiter said, but husband's was clearly very hot almost like a Jalfrezi dish. Plus when we ordered drinks. 1 glass of wine. 1 coke 1 sparkling water. I asked if coke is from glass bottles or gun. He said is not glass bottle as it looses its bubbles or gun either. For me clearly were using 2 litres plastic bottles of coke. As were barely any bubbles. The sparkling water got ot after another 10 min as no one bought it to us. We haf to remind them. The food itself was bland ,no spices at all You could feel just the chilli and thats it. No salt either. Garlic naan (no garlic taste or coriander no salt.). Is not the first time when we eat indian . My husband has a lot of experience with indian food. I work in catering industry. I can understad few mistakes no one is pefect. But I cannot tolerate a place not being clean or food like this. Shame for the location . The interior...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBiggest concern is the owner being rude, adamant and overly proud of the fact that they have 100 years legacy in this field. Same attitude fed into the staff(you will see this in the response of my review and poor reviews by other customers). He blatantly said to me that restaurent is for british people and cooking style suitable for british and not Asians(so rude, clearly owner is not equipped with hospitality ethics. This is not british culture I have experienced). He proudly said that 90% indian restaurent in UK are owned by british bangladeshi(perhaps he judged my Indian origin and wanted to demean me - so silly). Coming to food- ordered balti chicken, in which curry was good, but chicken was not very well tender. Another order was butter chicken which was disaster. Firstly chicken was hard as stone(possibly poor quality uncooked chicken), on complain they came back with bit tender chicken but waiter was not looking sorry for the 1st disappointment, he said its tandoori so its hard(not true, tandoor chicken can be tender). You cant serve hard chicken to anyone. Its gravy was so poor and not ceamy at all. Best thing about the resto was thai origin lady, she was humble and doing her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place looks spacious and tidy. Don't be deceived by it. The food is not to my (our) liking. The tikka masala is supposedly orange-y in color but it wasnt. It was so red, i thought it was tomato soupš¤. Also, it was too sweet to be a tikka masalašµāš«. Almost all the food are too sweet for it to be a main savory dish.𫤠I had to munch the onions and the chutney to counter the sweetness of the main dish.š„“ BTW, this is not an exaggeration of the event. I really ate the onions and chutney with it (and the rice). Anyways, the staff were good especially the thai lady that served us. However, the manager/supervisor/owner of the place who took our order was very condescending and treated us like we haven't had indian cuisine before. We found him rude and abrupt. It's our first time to dine in this place but i dont think we will eat in here again for the foreseeable future nor recommend it to any of our friends....
