We ordered a collection and although it was about 11pm, that really isn't an excuse. I arrived at the restaurant to find the doors locked. Once thet let me in I made payment and my food was brought to me promptly. Returning to where we were staying, I dished up the food... Now, I've had curried from lots of different parts of the country, and by far this had to be the blandest meal (not curry) I've even had. I had a lamb dupiaza, the lamb was OK, but what it was put in was a watery base sauce with no texture or flavour. Beans on toast wouldn't win many competitions, but it would play this curry off the park. Now if you are used to eating carrots on a daily basis and have no concept of texture, taste or even flavours, you are on to a winner.
I am absolutely terrified what my intestines will produce after that infiltration.
Thankfully this was a one off visit while in the area.
Thankfully I don't have to order...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhilst holidaying in the Norfolk Hinstanton area we were searching for somewhere to enjoy a qood evening meal. We searched and found Spice Garden in Kings Lynn, a short drive from where we were staying . A quick phone call ensured we could get a table, arrived and then sat down and enjoyed, what I can only say, was a truly delicious Indian meal, spicy, tasty and downright good!! This was tied in with being served by a friendly, cheerful Jay, with another gent, (apologies for not getting name), checking with us throughout the evening that everything was OK, and followed by a cheery wave goodbye from the lady in the conservatory as we went to the car. If anyone is looking for a good Indian restaurant that serves good quality food then look.no further than Spice Garden. We certainly recommend it and when we come back up to this area we will be coming back. Thanks all at Spice...

The reason for the poor rating is simply down to the quality of the food. The chicken tikka and lamb tikka starters were both dry and overcooked.
I ordered a balti and asked for some heat, but nothing crazy. I ended up with undercooked onions and peppers, dry lamb chunks and a very bland sauce. Its the first time in my life I haven't finished a curry.
My wife had a Korma...... Anyway, apparently the chicken in that was bone dry too.
The dishes also came out remarkably quickly after ordering, which isn't always a bad thing, but makes me wonder how much food is sitting in the kitchen already cooked waiting to be heated?
I want to reiterate that the service was excellent, couldn't fault it, but the food.ledt a lot...
