The Burnhams Tea Room & Cafe — Restaurant in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Visited last Sunday could see there was already a dog inside so went in realised there was outside seating at back of cafe so went and sat there my husband ordered food and came and sat down unfortunately before the food arrived there was a sudden heavy downpour we came back inside and sat next to the door putting Teddy well under the table and apologising to the two people sitting there by who were fine with this and made a fuss of Teddy we then saw our food being taken out the back and explained that we had come and sat inside due to the rain we were told that we would have to sit outside with the dog by now it was raining very heavy the seats were wet I told my husband to go inside and he ate his and I would sit outside with my soggy sandwich we rushed down our food didn’t finish it no apology just told they used to be a gazebo as we left we said we had not been happy with our treatment and we didn’t even get a reply just ignored Will not be going back the restaurant had been closed while we sat there as they had run out of cutlery and crockery common sense as there is a upstairs room would tell you to make the downstairs dog friendly or at least replace...

Young friendly staff, we ordered latte and ginger and lemon tea , best part was the coffee and walnut cake, generous portion size. Melted in the mouth with every morsel that entered my mouth the young lady who cut it was funny and lovely to see the team interacting as the cleaned up for the day and demonstrating they knew how and made it fun did not seem a chore. Very clean establishment. This also included the toilet. A quaint cafe. We were on holiday drive over 1 hour drive wort the visit to the village. lovely day was had by us and enhanced when we entered the cafe will return if every there again. Daughter was hungry so stumbled upon this place. Nothing special from the outside to look at. Was told no tables free inside but was outside. Shown to an outdoor table . Was cold abs windy , luckily someone just leaving so sat inside. Waitress who came and took our order had an attitude problem, walked around like a robot , slammed our food onto the table and when I asked for cutlery said ‘I’m just getting it’ in an unkind tone, seriously the staff need to find out the definition of what customer service is. Wanted to get out of there as quickly as we could. Food bog standard, nothing special. The owners should be grateful they are in a prime position...
