Then placed the cup on the saucer holding it across the top rim - i.e. bare fingers exactly where my lips would go. I asked her to discard it and make another, whereupon she started making excuses as to why - my wife interrupted & started to explain that this is unhygienic in normal practice - let alone during Covid times! Off she goes to get a replacement, only to pick the new cup up by the rim with her fingers inside. Sat outside under an umbrella as too hot inside and still not comfortable sitting inside with others, especially as the seating area felt a bit cramped.. You now have to order and pay at the counter and carry your own food and drinks, no waitresses anymore so have a look at the counter to see the cake/savoury choices before you go to your seat especially if in a group.
