I visited twice whilst in the area once for an afternoon scone and a cuppa and once for breakfast with my bestie. The afternoon visited would have been shortened considerably if we hadn't already paid at the bar. The scones must have been made from scratch, and the tea freshly picked in that moment to account for the time service took! It wasn't even busy. The breakfast visit was easier with helpful staff throughout our time, including afternoon cake. A choice of conservatory, restaurant, or outdoor seating. So conservatory for breakfast it was. I will try the restaurant on another visit to see how that fairs. The facilities were exceptionally disappointing. They have not been upgraded since the Gardener's Rest. Broken toilet seats that tried to relocate you to the floor, no toilet roll, and broken taps. The staff were a little mystified when I asked if they could manage some toilet roll. I do hope these are part of the improvement plan moving forward. The venue is accessible, with appropriate but outdated facilities. There's ample onsite parking available, too.

We had our wedding reception at the greenhouse on 9th August 2025 and we can’t thank Carl and his team enough for all of the hard work they put into our big day! Carl helped us through every process, inviting us back to have meetings with him to discuss and kept us feeling calm about it the whole time. Him and his staff even stayed late the night before so we could get some bits set up ready for the next day. All of our guests said on the day about how amazing the place looked all done up. The food was so good (as every guest also agreed). Everything flowed so nicely throughout the day all down to everyone that put their hard work in. They even made our wedding cake too which looked absolutely amazing! And also supplied the evening buffet which again we had so many nice comments about. We would recommend the greenhouse for anyone looking for future events or even just popping in for a meal as you get so much for your money. Thankyou again Carl & your team, you made our day just as special as we imagined and we will forever be so thankful for that.

We booked a table in advance for breakfast, and on arrival we only had to wait for a couple of minutes until we were seated, we could see staff serving other customers, so this was fine. It's a lovely restaurant which is really bright and comfortable, a very nice atmosphere. Our drinks and food orders were taken not long after sitting down, and drinks bought out to us within 5 minutes. We only had a 20 minute wait for food, which is perfect. I would expect it to be longer on a busier day (but where wouldn't be?!) The Big Greenhouse Breakfast was lovely, everything fresh and cooked to perfection, and I could also swap toast for fried bread which was great. The coffees and lattes were excellent too. My Wife had the pancakes which were delicious too. All in all everything was just great. Friendly staff who were more than happy to help. The refurb makes it so much nicer in there, better toilets, more space and still the same fantastic food. We were a little dubious after some reviews, but we were very glad we went. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

My friend and I ate here last Friday lunchtime. To be honest we have eaten in the cafe numerous times over the years, so when we arrived we were both taken aback at the changes. Gone is the lovely homely feeling that always greeted you before. Instead you enter into a dark empty area which was a shock to us both. Then through to a “lounge” area where a board said wait to be seated. What an absolute waste of space. So we waited a very nice lady came over and asked if we were eating and had we booked a table. I said what for the cafe? Her reply was we are a restaurant now not just a cafe. So I obviously said yes to eating but no to booking. Where would we have gone if we just wanted coffee.? Or are customers not allowed to just have coffee. She then took us through to the “New” Restaurant which is quite frankly far too Gastro like to be a Garden Centre Cafe. We felt that we should have been dressed in our out to Dine Clothes. The waitress came and gave us the “paper “ menu. and asked for our drinks order. On looking at the menu we were very surprised not only at the huge rise in prices, but at the limited choice on there. It was more like as I said a Gastro Pub menu. The only thing that even slightly resembled their old menu was Ham Egg and Chips. As this was a treat for my friend obviously I didn’t make a fuss if I had been on my own I would have left. We sat and waited for our order to be taken. Because now you only offer table service. WHY!!!! I ordered Haddock and Chips my friend had Scampi and Chips. We had to wait some time for our meal to arrive. I had a cappuccino and my friend a coke. Our meal came. Yes my fish was huge and delicious, which is more than can be said for the rest of the food on the plates. The so called Chips were so small they were squashed by the fish. My friends Scampi 8 pieces was so over cooked that it spoilt her meal. I then ordered another cappuccino. I then asked for the bill. Now I don’t mind paying for a meal ever. But the cost of that lunchtime meal was a shock. £38.05 The only good thing about the whole experience was the girls who delivered our meals. Will we be back. No sorry not at those prices. It is beyond me why you would want to go so up market when you close most days by 5pm. Like most folk a visit to a Garden Centre involves a stop in their cafe for afternoon tea or a...

Having"waited to be seated" had to go off and find someone to do just that. Shown to our table and menus given. The restaurant was empty with perhaps a max of 5 tables of two already seate some were served, others paying. We still wanted for our order to place. Luckily we were out on a leisurely lunch so not in any hurry. It was witnessed that new arrivals were like us, left hanging about, basically ignored, waiting to be seated. We had to then ask for our order to be taken. We were given apologises that we had not been logged as in! Bearing in mind that there were only a handful of tables already in. And now others joining, asks the question " were we invisible" in hind sight the wait for drinks was long, but as we were in no hurry it didn't actually register. But for others who are pushed for time this could be an issue. Cannot fault the food, it was delicious and well presented. Was eating and chilling out it became blatantly obvious that there is a huge problem with "wait here to be seated" you wait, but you don't get seated. The servers were behind the screen polishing cutlery, can easily see the potential diners, but for some reason just ignored them! They could alsoe serving meals, but again ignored the waiting diners. A simple acknowledgement would have sufficed. We saw two lots turn around and walk away. Two lots of would be paying customers that is!!. It was an absolute age before anyone came to clear plates and ask if we required anything further. The restaurant had a maximum of five seated tables and there were 4 waitresses. The issue with this establishment is the wait times. The food was lovely, the waitresses were polite, but they just left everyone hanging. So if time is of no consequence then do visit, the food makes up for it. But if not and you need or actually prefer to be served in a timely manner, then give it a miss. Having read other reviews this appears to be the only gripe. It is a shame that management is not monitoring this valuable feedback and doing...

If i could give a minus I would. My brother and I took my mum and rest of family for a mother's day meal. We booked for 14:00 and were promptly shown to our table. About 20 past 14;00 we were finally asked if we'd like drinks, we also said we're ready to order as the menu was very limited 9 adults 2 children no options just roast for all with choice of meats, no kids menu. Wasn't able to take both orders so came back 5 mins later, we ordered and waited, we asked for a highchair for 2 year old. At 14:50 our meals arrived luke warm, 1 carrot 1 parsnip bit of cabbage, (I suggest smaller plates) some of us didn't get the parsnip or Carrot, still no high chair and also stated still not had drinks. We ate quickly it really was not nice, meat was tough and uncooked i thought my lamb was Gammon. but how some like it. The waiter then came and re took our drink order. It didn't go through apparently. We did then get our drinks. Our plates were cleared at 15:00 and at 15:05 we ordered dessert was no choice 2 course or 3 course. 5 Sticky toffee Pudding and 4 brownies and a pannacotta, we asked if we coukd have custsrd with sticky toffee instead of cream. The waiter went to ask, this was a no only cream so we said ok. We waited and we waited and we still waited at 15:40 the waiter came back and said the kitchen staff had just told him that there was no sticky toffee pudding. Fed up by now of this awful meal and service we said don't bother we'll just have our bill and expect a discount. Our poor excuse for a roast plus drinks was a £177.00 with 15% off they charged us adults price for kids meal, they took off £6 for that. Surfice to say we will not return. The service was diabolical although our waiter tried his best and apologised 3 if not 4 times. The excuse they were busy..... The children were dissappointed they didnt get there ice-cream all I can say is thank god for Mc donalds a smarties Mcflurry stopped there tears. In future we'll go straight...
