The Maid's Head — Restaurant in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

"Home made" I think not Visited the Maids Head for a meal. I have used the pub before but only for drinks. It's a pleasant enough looking building, with good decor. Last visit we decided to eat. The Menu has a special section headed "Home Made pies". I like a good pie, so ordered Pie with chips. The meal arrived promptly enough, I would say a little hastily, which always makes me question, is this just microwaved food. I was expecting a nice slice of Home made pie, but what arrived was clearly not an actual pie, it was constructed from a dish lined with pastry, filling added and a slice of puff pastry on top to give the illusion of a pie. The "pie" was OK, but nothing to write home about, chips were either frozen or microwaved, I have not objection to the latter, so long as they a cooked fresh. In conclusion I would not recommend the Maids Head. Microwaved food at premium prices. I really did...

So my husband and son went to kings Lynn music festival and went to have a drink in the maids head, my son went to use the toilet and was ordered by the bounser to get to the back of the non existent queue he went back to the bouncer and said he wanted to use the toilet and was violently pushed into the railings and landed on the floor, the bouncer and another one jumped on top of my son grabbing him by the throat and was literally strangling him only letting go when his dad intervened. When is it nessesary to use these tactics when a customer asked to use the toilet. I certainly won't be recommending this pub to anyone and most definitely won't drink in there again. Went to the maids head on Sunday the 17th of December 2017. Was looking for somewhere to eat before going to the pantomime. Staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. I've always been dubious about carverys, but have to say this was the best one I've had so far. Plenty of fresh vegetables and everything was hot. The chef even came round and asked if everything was okay. Normally the waiter/waitress would do this but was much more personal coming from the chef. To me it shows he is proud of what he produces. The price was very reasonable and for anyone out there that checks the cleanliness of the toilets, they were spotless. Definitely will be returning...
