The Mussel Pod — Restaurant in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

The Mussel Pod is a takeaway catering cart, offering a variety of fresh, steamed mussels. The offerings include a very traditional marinière (cream, garlic and onion), or butter/garlic, as well as more extraordinary options prepared with cider (the chef's favourite), and another with Thai flavours (cocoanut milk, chillies, ginger, sriracha sauce, etc) that is the favourite of the fisherman himself. My wife and I have taken a box home several times in a week to enjoy the different flavours with a glass of wine as an aperitif. The Mussel Pod visits food festivals throughout the country, but if you're lucky you'll find it parked at home selling the freshest mussels to locals. Mussels were fantastic! Some of the most delicious I've ever had! Plenty of sauce options. Owner very pleasant.

Negatives - if eating as a takeaway without a house to go, wee bit tricky to eat (I suppose obvious) and at the location in Brancaster there are no tables at the pod. We ate on our bonnet at the sailing club and worked well but just something to think about :)

Truly awesome, I had the mussels Thai style the flavours are great, mussels are so so fresh and the ingredients are the same, all prepared on site in front of you. Would 100% go back and have! If you find your self in Brancaster Staithe make sure you pop in this little jem. Also the amount of mussels you get for the price is something to behold I was swept of my feet with the shear amount and quality.
