We stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast the following morning. We arrived mid afternoon and Kevin checked us in and took us to our room. Our was spacious and bright, very comfortable. We both had the taster menu, Kevin asked if the selection was OK, so we presumed that if there was a course you really didn't like he could amend. Jacki was able to advise from a more than ample wine list. Atmosphere was very relaxed the food was excellent. The Neptune is small, very comforable with great hosts, north Norfolk is rich in wildlife and walkable coastline, Old HunstantonBeach is 10-15 minutes walk. Breakfast was also excellent. We have dined in several michelin * restaurants now, never been disappointed, but the chef/patron is not always on site, here he brings each dish to your table, great hosts.

Small restaurant with award winning cooking and service, we had a first class Sunday lunch, I had roast haunch of Hare which is unusual on a Sunday lunch menu. We recommend you give this venue a try.

The best kind of Michelin Star Restaurant!

We went for a birthday weekend with friends and stayed the night.

From arrival its bliss, the rooms were glorious, simple but with all the best finishing touches and amenities.

Dinner was the best, Kevin and Jackie were so welcoming and friendly, the service was excellent they were chatty and all the details were amazing!

We opted for the tasting menu, it was beautiful. They managed my allergy to shellfish and I didn’t feel in the least bit like I was missing out.

What we loved about this place was of course the food but you expect it to be good, we loved the atmosphere, it was warm, welcoming, unstuffy and most of all relaxing! I’ve had week long holidays that I have left less relaxed from that one night here.

Breakfast the following morning was delicious and varied so you could have just what you fancied.

By far my favourite restaurant and indeed overnight stay! We will be...

Service is good - not great. Setting is good - not great. So why the Michelin star? ||||Well chef/proprietor Kevin Mangeolles is very canny chef who creates exciting, original, food that packs a wow factor.||||What we look for when we do a bit of fine dining are original dishes. Food combinations we have never tried before.|||| The Neptune didn't disappoint. ||||The carrot and sauternes sauce, under the chicken mousse was sensational. The pureed sweetcorn and salted caramel popcorn with the Norfolk asparagus was inspired. The crumbed hazelnut on the Comte cheese and beetroot - that was a keeper - clever, simple, and - well... clever. (and very tasty)||||As for the Baron Bigod cheese cake - perfectly balanced - not too sweet. What a show stopper.||||A wonderful tasting menu. The belly pork portion was a tad on the small side but - that would be my only criticism.||||Can't wait to go back.... Norfolk needs more...

Visited last week and enjoyed their taster menu.|We were greeted by the Chef/Owner, Kevin, asked to check in on the COVID app and offered hand sanitiser. We were the shown to table, asked if we’d like a drink, shown the menu and asked if anything was not to our liking or allergic to.|Kevin’s wife, Jacki, came and said hello and asked about our holiday etc. |Canapés and bread we’re soon bought out and then the menu began.|It was quite simply one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. |Each course built on the next and without exception were delicious. Kevin definitely knows how to match flavours.|In all we spent a great few hours enjoying the 8 courses, and despite the restaurant being full, never felt rushed nor waited for anything . Both Jacki and Kevin were attentive and friendly throughout and were a large part of making the whole evening a treat.|Whether you go for the a la carte or set menu you won’t regret it....
