Had a fantastic stay at The Queen Victoria last night! The serive was top notch, the whole team we're very friendly, helpful and accomodating. The pub is lovely inside and out, the roaring open fire was definately an added bonus in this cold weather! Great selection of beers, wines, ciders and spirits. The homecooked food was delicious, there was an excellent selection and it was definately great value. They host a weekly pie night, burger night, steak and sizzler night and offer a home cooked roast on Sundays! The rooms are all located on the ground floor, each room has a little table and chairs outside overlooking their beautiful beer garden, which would be a great spot to eat and drink in the warmer months. I stayed in the accesible room, which had a large en suite wet room, that room was spotless and very well equiped with a shower chair, a stool for use at the basin and an emergency assistance alarm. The bedroom again was very clean and cosy, the bed was super comfortable and the room also had two arm chairs which was a nice touch. The accomodation and pub were both dog friendly and my pups we're made just as welcome as I was. A definate highlight for me was the resident goats and rabbits which live in an enclosure at the bottom of the beer garden! The location is ideal, right in heart of Snettisham with access to some great walking and cycling routes. The perfect base for exploring the beautiful Norfolk coast and countryside. I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNever been here before, called in on a drive out for some food and a drink, unfortunately they had stopped serving food at 8pm so we had just missed out. Room for a couple of dozen cars to park and additional out on the road if necessary. About half a dozen picnic benches with big umbrellas in the beer garden out front, and could see a larger one out back but don't know how big. The bar itself is quite small but you can get in to get served, 2 lovely ladies serving. They were busy with lots of locals by the sounds of it, so was pleasing to see. Three or 4 table and chairs in the main bar, about 8 in the side set up for food to be served then overflow. Stopped there until 11pm and sat out front, had a few drinks each, fair selection to choose from, reasonably priced. The toilets were easy enough to find and get to, I didn't use them but there were no complaints from my partner, so they were clean and tidy. A bit too noisy inside for me, but everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves, so it was nice to see, and it was a lovely night so more than happy to sit outside. All in all seemed like a nice place, a bit out of the way for us about 40 minutes drive, but would happily go again and try the food as it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed on The Queen Victoria's caravan area for 5 nights. There are 5 excellent hard standings with electric hook up and a clean and warm shower/wet room and toilet is provided. The pub serves food including a Sunday Roast and staff are warm and welcoming. Although we visited in November so not sitting out we could see the large pleasant garden area with plenty of interest for children The site is wonderfully located in a pleasant village with a small Co-op supermarket a pleasant and popular coffee shop/cafe. The pub is 3 minutes walk from bus stop with a service running every 15 minutes between historic Kings Lynn and "Sunny Hunstanton" and hourly to Sandringham, Wells and Fakenham. Easy access therefore to Norfolk bird reserves and coast path. Historic and beautiful Kings Lynn is well worth spending at least a day exploring the Heritage Trails. The Royal Estate at Sandringham is a day trip (when open) and has extensive parkland walks all year. Christmas lights activities are just setting up! The Norfolk coast path has some stunningly vast spectacular vistas and beaches, together with picturesque villages such as Blakeney and Wells.
Overall a great location, warm welcome and...
