Voujon — Restaurant in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Booked a table at 7, waited 45 minutes then had to ask for a menu. The starters came out half an hour later (these were okay) then waited over 45 minutes once finished for the main course. X2, half a supposed chickens turned up, looked more like a chicken drumstick, politely pointed out to a member of staff how poor the meals were and we were asked to wait for the owner which we patiently did. In the meantime a waiter tried to put further chicken onto the plates with food that was already cold, he could also do with a course in customer care. The owner was not the least bit interested when he finally graced us with his presence, the fact we had waited over 2 hours and had received such inadequate food, didn't seem to concern him no apology was offered in fact he was very rude which was totally unacceptable. We had no problem in paying for the drinks and starters we had consumed (which in the end was what we did) but even getting the bill for this was a problem. Due to extremely poor customer service and outright rudeness the situation quickly escalated into a serious argument. All of this could have been avoided with a simple apology and a better standard of customer care. It was most unfortunate that the restaurant was full this evening and other customers had to witness this incident. Overall an extremely upsetting experience. **Beware if you ask for the food YOU HAVE PAID FOR to be put in takeaway tubs at the end! They only give you a fraction of what you had left over! **

We used to love this place and we have actually been twice, in the last month, but I don’t think we will be coming back. Or if we do, I’m bringing my OWN takeaway tubs, so I can fill them myself.

It was a “banquet night” and the first thing I realised was that there was nothing in the menus to explain what was included in the Banquet!

We asked a waiter and he hurriedly explained it to us but we didn’t follow what he was saying. I had to go outside and photograph it in the window, on my phone, so I could tell our friends what was included.

At the end of the meal we had a lot of food left over so we asked for the food to be put in takeaway tubs. They did this and brought us the bags with our food in. They knotted the bags so that the food wouldn’t fall out or stink the taxi out, which was a good idea. But on second thoughts, it may have been so that we couldn’t check them.

Unfortunately, when we unpacked them, we realised only a small portion of each meal was in the boxes they gave us. Not sure why they would do this, as they surely can’t use the food again?

On the flip side, the meal and service were very good- the menus were nice and varied- we can’t fault them at all.

Got in there just got looked at, know-one greeted us even though we booked a table. Once we sat down we ordered drinks and I ordered Diet Coke I got Coke Zero out of a 2l bottle which was flat I did mentioned this and they tipped some away and open another bottle and topped it up and brought it back as we could see them at the bar we then ordered food and the lamb balti come out and was all fatty meat for the price we paid we expected at least some leaner meat. We have been here a few times and it’s always been fantastic but this time has put us off with how the overall experience was didn’t feel valued as a customer considering we always tip and to be pretty much blanked I feel it was...
