We went in here for a breakfast after seeing a sign sayin "food served all day". Found a table and looked at the menu to find "all day" doesn't include breakfast, and food is served from 11am. It was almost 11am so we decided to stay anyway as we were really hungry after travelling from the Midlands. Being the vegetarian of the group, I couldn't see any vegetarian options so went to the bar to ask if there were any substitutions. A lady came out from the back and I asked her if they did any vegi sausages. There was no greeting or smile and I was abruptly told no. I found her attidude very rude. Disappointed, I asked if anywhere nearby did vegetarian breakfasts and she showed me a place a lot further up the prom, but too far for us to go as some of us had mobility issues, so I thanked her anyway and went back to my group. We decided to stay anyway. At 11am we went to order. I asked for the sausage, egg and chips, but asked if I could have the sausages taken off and have beans and mushrooms from the side menu put on instead. Abruptly again I was told "we don't do swaps". No offer of a solution (I could have had the sausages and given them to my friends?) but, because she was again, rude and unhelpful I told her to forget it! She said something snappy back and then I told her about herself. I was told I'd been rude first! I'm 50 and have never in my life had anyone in a restaurant tell me I'm rude! I've worked in catering and retail and know how people should treated. I've never encountered such a miserable, rude and unhelpful member of a customer service team, ever. I can only assume she was the owner, as if I had a member of my team like that, they would not be in the role for long! Anyway, she told me to "just leave!". I apologised to my friends and we all walked out. Absolutely awful experience. Avoid,...
Read moreAbsolutely the most rudest staff I've ever come across. My partner and I visited there today. After waiting by the sign that says 'wait here to be seated' for over 10 minutes and having two servers walk past us clearing tables but completely ignoring us, my partner walked to the bar and asked if we still had to wait. He explained that there was a queue and and that neither of the staff had even acknowledged us. The bar man was very rude with his response and at that point we considered leaving. We actually waited a few more minutes only to have a server come over and very abruptly say in my face, put your mask on! My partner was wearing his and I showed my exemption to which he replied, if you don't have a mask you can't come in. I said again that I am exempt and his response was 'tough' I thought if you had a valid exemption then you were allowed in? Not only did we leave at that point but also the family of five who were behind us walked out too. The whole of one side of the outside terrace was empty apart from one table and nearly all of the other side. There were more than half of the tables in the conservatory empty too so these people were not that busy that they didn't have time for a little manners. We were in here last August and a female server had no problem letting me in with my lanyard so maybe the manager of this place needs to do some training and get all the staff on the same page. We've never been treated so badly as potential paying customers. Would not recommend. To many other places happy to treat you with respect in Hunstanton. The waterfront is all view and...
Read moreOn entering the pub we should have turned around and left no friendly welcome and when we asked someone what the system was orders at till, but as our teenagers were hungry we decided to stay. Ordered food and orange juices at till and was rudely told drinks will be ready at the end of the bar.The bar it’s self was dimly lite so when I returned to sit my daughters glass was filthy with black bits all in the inside. When I went back to the bar and told the lad serving he gave me a filthy look and said really and then started to scratch them off and said actually they are in the inside and the glass still needs changing, he thought about just tipping the orange juice into the new glass till he saw the look of horror on my face. When the food arrived as quick as a flash it was lukewarm and greasy, the sausages were not cooked completely and there was egg shell fried eggs. The lad did not say would you like any sauces just plonked down 5 packs of tomato sauce as we sat eating two other complaints were made about dirty glasses and tables were left dirty. Also as we drank down we noticed that that all the glasses were not very clean either. The only thing that was good about the place was that the toilets were beautiful clean. May be they’d do better employing the cleaning behind the bar and bar staff as cleaners. Worst place I have...
