A Magical SpanishThemed Evening . Authentic Flavours, Exceptional Hospitality, and Unforgettable Atmosphere From the moment we arrived at the Spanish-themed night, we were transported straight to the heart of Spain. The attention to detail was remarkable ā Abbie and the entire team greeted us with genuine warmth and contagious enthusiasm, setting the tone for what would be a really enjoyable evening. We appreciated the vibrant Spanish flags and cheerful bunting that adorned the dining area, infusing the space with a festive spirit and a burst of colour. It was clear that the staff had gone above and beyond to create a welcoming experience, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. To start, we enjoyed a wonderful selection āfor the tableā: crisp and flavourful Bruschetta, delicate Palma Ham, briny anchovies, plump olives, spicy peppers, and perfectly roasted salted almonds. This array of appetisers was both beautifully presented and bursting with authentic Spanish flavours a true celebration of simple, quality ingredients. For starters, we shared succulent Gambas bathed in a luscious tomato and garlic sauceāa perfect balance of sweet, savoury, and aromatic. The Calamari, accompanied by a creamy garlic dip, was expertly cooked: tender, golden, and moreish. Moving on to the mains, we were blown away by the sumptuous belly pork, served alongside rich black pudding and spicy chorizo. When it came to dessert, there was no hesitationāchurros, of course! Light and crisp, served with a silky chocolate dip that made for the perfect sweet ending to our culinary journey. The food alone would have earned five stars, but the atmosphere elevated the evening even further. A talented Spanish guitarist played throughout the night, weaving a soundtrack of evocative melodies that brought the spirit of Spain alive. The music, combined with the decorations created a wonderful ambiance. In summary, we are regular visitors to Ego, but the Spanish-themed night had an extra layer. From the loverly food to the amazing staff and the joyful atmosphere, every aspect was perfect. Abbie and her team deserve the accolade for crafting an experience that was both authentic and memorable. Highly recommendedāfive stars...
Read moreMyself, partner and daughter paid our first visit here tonight and i can most definately say we wont be back. On arrival we thought the revamped Wellington was lovely and we were quickly shown to our seats. No one asked if we had signed in using the nhs QR code but initially all seemed in order. Our order was soft drinks and an alcohol free beer. We ordered our food and waited not too long for it to be served. My daughters pizza was not cooked very well and quite tastless, my hanging kebab had more veg and very little meat and my partners roast "pink" beef was very well cooked. On taking our very full plates away (my partners was cleared as he was starving) the waiter asked if everything was ok but proceeded to walk away whilst i started to explain. We observed at this point that with the exception of an older member of staff, it seemed to be very young staff serving us. We were sat near to the open kitchen and it seemed almost chaotic! When another member of staff came to take another drinks order we pointed out the beer was 4 days out of date "oh sorry about that" and off she went. Two out of the 3 desserts were fine however i ordered eton mess with berries and requested that there be no blackberries. I was presented with a martini glass full of cream and meringue which i put in a side plate only to find the berries consisted of 3 half strawberries (it cost £6.25). When i spoke to a member of staff she agreed that it "wasnt right" and took it back to kitchen. She then came out to tell me that the berries were all mixed together with the blackberries hence the small portion and i declined the offer of something else as my family had finished their dessert by then. I then requested the bill to find that they had charged for the Eton Mess and the out of date lager. All in all not an enjoyable experience but i cant really blame the young staff without proper leadership from...

Love how itās been refurbished however didnt love the kids area next to where we were eating( no adults with them) and kids that were running around. Itās a lovely place so lastly please cook fresh carrots warm the mushy peas up and for goodness sake thicken that bloody gravy up itās like water thank you. UPDATE!! Just adding on to this thought Sunday was bad went with mum tonight had to ask for all new joints of meat to come out the bits they were left were dried up the veg looked disgusting the roast potatoes were never replaced (hard as rock) the family behind me also complained about them she couldnāt put her fork through them the waitress said she had asked for it all to be replaced a while ago but never was and another employee said they wouldnāt pay for the food there, that says it all really! mum did have the meat from the fresh joints with the salad ( minus the roast ) and she really enjoyed it, my portion of meat on my carvery was pathetic veg was awful wish I had the salad with one of the burgers they looked gorgeous, itās such a let down as the place is lovely come get yourselves sorted oh did get thicker gravy though when requested, Result šps:...
