Gallio Leeds — Restaurant in Leeds

Thought we'd give the brunch a go. At £7.95 (Excluding drinks) a person you can't really go wrong. Unfortunately a number of issues means I won't be returning. No Bacon, I was told it would be out soon, but, I'd finished my breakfast before it finally arrived. No fried eggs (Apparently they don't have the equipment to cook fried eggs!). Quality of food overall poor, very cheap ingredients, really not sure what the meat content was in the sausages, but, appeared to be very low. Like I say, a low price for breakfast, but, to be honest they would be better increasing the price per head and providing a good quality breakfast. To top it all, Service charge automatically added on! Erm....It's a self service buffet, so I've paid £2.16 service charge for someone to bring 2 coffees at £2.85 to my table.?? (Yes, I could have declined the service charge, but, I didn't realise until after leaving). Such a shame as I've been here before for evening meals a number of times and have always had great food and service, but, this breakfast experience was very poor. If you're going to do it, do it right...

Visited here with friends and little ones and was blown away by the initial service. The food was well presented and the cocktails were luuuush 🍸 A few dishes could have done with a bit more seasoning, the garlic potatoes side and garlic prawn starter I ordered lacked salt and wasn't as garlicky as anticipated, the kids food portions were generous and the mixed grill was delicious but the bulgarwheat rice was dry, it needs some lubricant, oil, butter, something. We ordered extra pouring cream with our chocolate fudge cake and it came out without an issue. The bill came out in what looked like an old book. The interior decor was lovely. I went there for lunch a few weeks ago. Pros: The restaurant's interior is warm and inviting. There is free parking available outside or on the street. The staff is extremely attentive. Cons: I ordered grill chicken, which was dry and flavourless. I rarely use extra salt when dining out, but I had to this time. It was supposed to be served with a 'salad' but it was more of a mixture of dry carrots, cucumber, tomato, and lettuce. The non alcoholic cocktails we had were way too sweet and not properly mixed. Be aware that a 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill (which I didn't mind this time because, as previously stated, the staff were excellent), but on the whole I believe is a bad practice.
