We have been to Miller and Carter multiple times. On the last occasion, we had the burgers as a takeaway.

There is a large car park around the back, so there is always plenty of space if busy or large groups visit. It also has spaces for disabled parking and electric charging points. On the edge of Garforth with easy access to the M1 and 6120 Leeds Orbital Ringroad.

The building itself is a piece of history, dating back to the 17th century, which gives it a bit of a quirky layout. This being said, it means wheelchairs have limited access to seating, so it is best to book ahead.

The last time we sat upstairs was in summer, there was no air-conditioning, and it was extremely stuffy and uncomfortable. We prefer to sit downstairs in the booth seating, which is quite comfortable.

You can also just pay a visit for a drink if you're not in the mood for food as they have a nice seating area in the bar.

As with all places, some of the servers are more efficient and friendly than others. We've never had terrible service, just some stand out above the rest.

Although there is a child's menu, it's not in our opinion a child comfortable restaurant. It definitely has more of an adult feel.

Now the food, We've generally always had a good meal when we've sat inside. On occasion, there's been something not quite right, but they're happy to sort if you request.

My partner has had a steak before, to say it's a steakhouse he said it's not the best he's had. Maybe a little overpriced for the quality.

The burgers are very nice and flavoursome. The onion loaf is something a little different, but it is rather nice on the side of your meal.

The famous lettuce wedge, just why? I don't get it, it's the first and last time we will ever order it. We didn't know about it when we first visited. It is just literally a quarter of a lettuce in a bowl?? My advice is don't waste your money on that one, haha!

Although it's not aimed at a children environment, my grandson did enjoy his food. He was 4 at the time.

Now, if you're choosing to order for delivery, this has been very hit and miss. Not always the fault of the restaurant may I add.

Often, it has arrived cold, this is definitely due to the delivery service, not the restaurant, as they always pick up from multiple places and do other drops first, and they don't always use a hot carrier.

Occasionally, the kitchen must be busy as they've forgotten to put the bacon on the burgers or the sides into the bag. This comes in a sealed bag, so it's definitely done in preparation.

This being said, even with the blips, the food is very nice. We will definitely order from them again ( I just hope it's on a...

We called here at one o'clock on a Tuesday afternoon. Accessing the carpark entrance is via the A642 and it is adjacent to one of the exits off the Garforth roundabout - you need to anticipate turning into the carpark as you exit this very busy, and quite fast roundabout. The carpark seems to have ample regular spaces, and has disability spaces nearest the premises. We entered the pub via two or three steps up to the main entrance door. We were greeted by a polite member of staff and shown to a window table in the very full dining room! The room has traditional decor and felt warm and welcoming. The tables do seem quite close together but that didn't seem to bother the diners who all looked and sounded to be in good spirits and enjoying their meals and the company they were in. The menu is extensive and seems to cater for a lot of different tastes. The prices are certainly at the very top end of what I would usually pay - I have certainly paid a lot less for burger and fries! Our order was taken by a polite young lady, and considering the place was full we didn't have to wait too long for our meal to arrive. The food was cooked perfectly, it was hot and tasted absolutely delicious.

There was a relaxed friendly atmosphere to the whole visit, the food was excellent, the staff polite and courteous - I would recommend a visit here for these reasons. I will call here again if I am passing. BTW, leaving the carpark is via another gate which puts you on the A63 Selby Road (dual carriageway), which promptly puts you back on the Garforth roundabout again - it does seem to be a fast...

Very disappointing. Seated at 7.30 and were eventually able to order drinks 45 minutes later, three of the four ordered arrived 10 minutes later and the fourth a full 20 minutes later after a reminder given. We were repeatedly advised the chefs were behind as they were struggling with the new menu, ie a steakhouse specialising in steak now serving steak! Yes it was a Saturday night and fairly busy but there were ample staff working, it was just that most seemed to be clueless as to their role. After our starters eventually arrived I interrupted half a dozen of them having a chin wag to enquire if I could get a spoon to have a taste of my soup, 'here you go pal' as a spoon was retrieved from a draw and handed to me. There was over an hour between finishing starters and the mains arrival, The service is appalling with little or no direction given to the largely very young staff which is a real shame as the food is very tasty. At these prices they must do better, guests do not expect to have the table next to them spray sanitised whilst they're eating and then have the cleaning equipment left on the table. Our waitress, I'm sure, couldn't care less whether we had a pleasant experience or not, rude, clueless and unconcerned. Will not...

It was really disappointing . Service started out well, but once a large party arrived, it was as though we weren't there. We ordered more drinks which were forgotten and had to reorder, we were seated directly under the air conditioning which I requested to be turned down as my little girl was freezing but again this was forgotten until I reminded the staff member. A family who arrived and ordered after us were served far quicker than we were, which was just rude .Starters came quite quickly, which was good, but then we were waiting over 30 minutes for the mains after. The " wedge " we were given was just a quarter of a lettuce with some crumbled cheese on ( not sure what the point of that was) The steaks were really nice, but the fries were chewy, and the thick cut chips were like they'd been scraped from the bottom of the pan. I've wanted to try Miller and Carter for a while, but I really wish I'd not bothered . I've had much better at a standard pub for far less than £150.00 As we were leaving, it was clear we weren't happy and one staff member apologised, but the others just didn't bat an eyelid. Very poor to say the least.
