The Bay Horse — Restaurant in Leeds

Not really fair to do a review under these abnormal circumstances so I'll try and set out pluses and minuses.

Pluses: very impressed with the speed and efficiency of table service if you sat outside. The staff were great. Very helpful, polite and quick . There was plenty of outside seating, qr codes for track and trace readily available and clear signposting about social distancing. Nice to sit with friends enjoying a drink and watching life go by.

Minuses: the selection of beer was limited. I was told John Smiths or Guinness! The draught cider wasn't available, so only bottled. I mean come on, this is a pub! At the time of the visit, food wasn't available so I can't comment on that but I understand its usually good.

Conclusion: I would go again and try the food and see if the minuses have been addressed. Good to support...

Absolutely lovely alternative Sunday dinner!! Meat in a yorkshire pudding wrap with veg and roasts. Beautiful home cooked dinner and desert. More than accommodating us and our 6 children, the service from the gentleman (didn't get his name) was second to none, made to feel welcome! Which can be difficult when you approach with 6 young children in tow. Play area could do with updating and neatening up and provisions of pencils, colouring sheets and word puzzles would be a great addition as I don't like devices at the dinner table to keep the children entertained with out been loud with speech games but otherwise a great first visit. Under new management and early days look good. Welcoming families in and offering a variety of food. Visited on Saturday late afternoon and I had the hot meat sandwich of the day which was steak, one on our table also had the bay burger and another had the fish and chips which were all excellent. We did pop past on Easter Sunday morning/afternoon also for a breakfast and to see the events being put on for charity and the community which was popular and well managed.
