We ordered french fries, fried brie and the smokey grilled butternut. Fires are good, however we were very disappointed with the rest of the food. We would not recommend them at all, it is probably safer to stick with sandwiches.

Friendly staff and nice drinks sit in the courtyard under cover or on the terrace when not raining and watch the penguins

I am a volunteer at Harewood and brought a friend to visit today. We went to the Courtyard cafe and I placed an order for hot food and drinks costing £24.00. However the area to collect hot drinks was complete chaos. There was a long queue and we had to wait a long time to collect our drinks. We then struggled to find somewhere to sit. In the meantime a waiter had been walking around looking for us with our hot food but by the time we'd found somewhere to sit, the food was lukewarm. I felt embarrassed because I'd brought my friend to a complete shambles! The organisation of this cafe needs reviewing in my opinion. I would suggest giving each table a number which you give at the till when placing your order. Your hot food and drinks should then be brought to you at...

I cannot rate the food, as the place looked very unclean and unkempt... Enough to put us off dining there. Staff were friendly. And we did actually tell them the reason we chose not to eat (all the tables dirty, full of rubbish) but the staff member didn't even offer to get someone to clean one for us, (many tables were free, but just not clean). We was definitely disappointed when the rest of the grounds were so well kept, litter free etc. The other cafe wasn't open today evidently, so maybe this was the reason?! but as it was into midafternoon, couldn't see why such little attention was steered in the 'only' food...

For whatever reason everything served in takeaway containers. Ordered lamb stew and herby dumpling. Wrong order was delivered and then stew came with chunk of bread but no dumpling or explanation. Beans on toast was disgusting. Served in a cardboard box and the bread was just so soggy as it wasn't’ toasted! Looking at the black stripes on one side of the bread it had been thrown on a griddle and left at that. This was a child’s meal costing nearly £5. Tables full of rubbish and floor was filthy. Such a shame as they have a...
