Lunchtime or an evening meal, then The Nelson won't disappoint ๐Ÿ˜‹ We were celebrating a birthday, and some of us had the set menu and others ordered off the main menu. All meals were delicious and arrived together. Pictured is my steak which was ๐Ÿ‘Œ The staff were attentive, but not annoyingly popping by every 2 minutes to check everything is okay. They got it just right. Drinks can't be faulted either, plenty on draught to choose from, while I enjoyed some wine ๐Ÿ˜Œ If you want someone with a high end feel, bit without the prices then pop by and try The Nelson. Their fixed price lunch and evening meals are great value and quality. They also have a large patio area where you can dine or just have a drink in the sun ๐ŸŒž There is a children's play area to the side of the patio, with a large field area too. We often come here as we know we won't be disappointed!

We have been to The Nelson quite a few times now and the food there is really good. We've had quite a few different things from there, but I haven't got pictures of everything.. here's some I do have and at the end are some other things we've had from there. If you're after a nice lunch/dinner out at a cute country pub with a good atmosphere & yummy food, then this is definitely one to try! Food is delicious, they do lovely cocktails, service is good & not too expensive either ๐Ÿ‘Œ The Sunday roast is also delicious ๐Ÿคค There is a separate bar to the restaurant which has a good choice of drinks and the beer garden is lovely in the summer, which also has a play area for the kids! Plenty of on-site parking here too, just be careful coming down the narrow lanes to get here.

Absolutely brilliant experience at this restaurant. We went for our work Christmas party and we pretty much tried every single item of the menu. I am attaching some photos for people to see. The camembert was a big hit as a starter with us and every single dish was not only very tasty but also very tastefully presented. I had the beef and I cannot recommend it enough. The Christmas pudding was really nice too however the chocolate log was absolutely amazing as well. The staff were ever so helpful and accommodating and always had a smile on. On arrival we found on our table little Santa hats and various festive head bands which was a lovely touch on behalf of the management. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back for seconds.

Went for first time last night, for a meet up with old friends, one of whom has been diagnosed with Parkinsons disease, so we were looking for a pleasant evening with good food. We definitely found both, the staff were all young, they were both attentive and very friendly, always smiling and happy to have a joke. The food was incredible, we all had something different from the main courses, and we all wiped the plate, apart from my friend who wasn't able to finish the huge fish in batter, which nevertheless was because of his disability, not the food quality. My wife also struggled with the sizable Pork main, but the remainder was put into a plastic container to take home. Puddings were also very good, only tiny thing was that the chocolate brownies were just a little dry, but still nice with ice cream, the other desserts ranged from crumble to profiteroles, all went down well. Coffee to follow, and including a few drinks we paid ยฃ30 each, which for the quality of the meal we felt was well worth it. Definitely recommend, and will be going back as soon as possible even though we're not local. Well done all at...

We've eaten at The Nelson before and always had a good experience. As I'm coeliac we always make sure with our waiter/ress that what I order from their gf menu is gf and I always check about fryers being dedicated before ordering anything that's fried. My choices were prawn cocktail to start, the Moroccan lamb for main. Both were delicious! I wasn't sure about a dessert but still asked. One of the choices was a Berry crumble-not often on a gf menu! So had to have. That too was delicious, and the crumble topping was very close to a muggle topping-no oats were used! However, shortly after finishing, my stomach started to hurt (and not the stuffed full kind of pain). I think there may have been some cross contamination at some point as 2 days later I am still suffering with the effects. But, as this is the first time that has happened there-and we have been numerous times before and no issues, we will return, but I will maybe question a bit more...
