Smiths Tea Room — Restaurant in Lincoln

Had a voucher to use at Smiths Tearooms at the Junxion on Rookery Lane roundabout. Myself and my daughter decided we would pop in for lunch and a coffee today and use the voucher.

Massive thanks to Matt Smith and his team for outstanding service and food. Menu is amazing and looking at all food that came out it all looked superb. My daughter had the famous Ploughman's lunch which looked amazing and I had the smoked salmon salad only eating a tiny bit of the coleslaw as I'm on a strict diet. I've found recently that getting a good salad or any healthy option is near impossible in many eateries but Matt has the options needed. His salad has a good mix if leaves, not just iceburg lettuce and a mixture of all other salad pieces, peppers, Tom's, cucumber, pomegranate, onion etc etc. Food was delicious, venue amazing and staff, polite and approachable. Visited this little tea shop yesterday with 5 children aged 18-7yrs. It was a welcome change to find somewhere like this that we could all sit together at one table. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We didn't feel at all rushed. Although there is no kids menu and the sandwich fillings are a little grown up (I didn't ask if they'd adapt any but they are so nice they may do) children had toast with jam. Two had jacket potatoes with generous fillings and lovely fresh salad and coleslaw. Two of us had toasted bagels. All well presented and a fantastic large pot of tea which lasted until we had cake. One of the most welcoming tearooms in the Lincoln area, an absolute gem of a discovery following a walk in the adjacent delightful Boultham Park. The quality and variety of the menu places Smiths far ahead of any similar tearooms. Service is efficient and friendly whilst the stylish decoration with a slight retro touch combines to create an ambience ideally suited to pass some time with friends over a tea, coffee or hot chocolate perhaps accompanied by one of the many delicious homemade cakes. My wife and I will most definitely be repeating our visit to sample more off the varied menu.
