Fabulous, Fabulous Fabulous, Oh and did I mention, it was Fabulous. My husband and I have the privilege of pastoring a Christian fellowship in our local town, we'd been quite busy so wanted a few chill days and this was the perfect place. From checking in to checking out everything was brilliant. The location is so peaceful and the pub is set in lovely countryside, the walk along the canal into Lincoln is lovely, it takes around 25 minutes. The staff were great, unfortunately I didn't get all of the names. Scott who worked in the bar was really friendly, as were the other members of the team. The lady who cleaned the rooms was lovely and the chap who served our breakfast each morning was, again, very friendly. Compliments to the chef for fantastic breakfasts and evening meals, superb, if you are having the steak and mushroom pie be prepared to be amazed at the amount of steak in it, there was more in one pie than we have between us on a Sunday, Deeelicious. The rooms are in a separate building just across the car park, the building is immaculate and has a lovely seating area as you enter. The view from the room was lovely, decor immaculate, bed was comfy, great shower, plenty of storage, tea and coffee. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Would we go back? Definitely, and God willing would stay for a week next time. Thank you all for making our stay perfect.

I won’t be leaving a postitive review, the management are arrogant and damn right rude. This restaurant is a total rip off. Let’s start with disabled access, no signage and when you go up ramp to use side entrance tables n chairs are in the way. Access through patio doors does not have a level threshold plate- I work as building control officer and find this shows arrogance of the place as clearly not arsed. If you are in mobility or similar you will struggle to get over it especially if you have any issues with health quite a bump getting over, my father in law has spinal issues!! We booked table for 6 the staff inside are just running about doing actually nothing took them ages to show us to our table .. place was relatively empty. Shown to table .. waited ages for drinks order to be taken and same for the food order. The cutelry is in a box and you have help yourself, these boxes are dust traps and how long they sat in their no attention to detail here at all, the bench seating was dirty and dust was everywhere. Fish n chips I had was poor at its best , the chips hardly cooked the fish itself was average the mushy peas were not minty as deceived and cold. Father-in-law had steak n ale pie and the pie again not much flavour and veg was raw the carrot was clearly not cooked as we all tried cut it with knife. It says slot when most of table left our food. 30mins passed with staff walking past looking and it was clear we had finished No one could be bothered to clean our table. In end I went through to the bar and asked speak to a manager, a young man said he was bar manager. I was telling him my concerns and that it’s not acceptable and he literally stood laughing in my face literally laughing in front of people in bar, well my response probable not the most dignified are you laughing at me and he carried on laughing well you best go get some in charge of whole place before I launch you over the bar you arrogant little boy. Another manager arrives I tell him what happened to the disbelief of all my family and bar members drinking, oh he’s socially awkward … really ??? I’d say damn right rude agsin show’s arrogance of this place. I told him about the food oh we got a new chef only been with us 2 weeks … And ???? You Steve restaurant grade food and charge for it in your prices, you serve packet sauces and vinegar just this place is worst in Lincoln has to offer, do not visit for food, go for drink by the river that’s it. This place is equivalent to a 2 4 £10 type place but they charge loads more. We will not be returning. I posted my review on Instagram and I had at least 10 other people message say they had same experience as me . It’s a shame the management so not seem to care about how piss poor the restaurant has become now with loads of people having nothing positive to say speaks volumes. Just be warned about disabled access I pointed this out to staff and was not even bothered, remember we don’t choose to be in wheel chair or disabled etc it’s not a choice if we don’t speak up nothing will change and if we are unfortunate to be in a situation of being one where can you visit and enjoy life ?

A virtually hidden location almost under the A46 Lincoln bypass on the north bank of the Fossdyke navigation, the Pyewipe inn is approached along a single track access road off the A57. We decided to eat here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and on arrival were welcomed by the general manager and found a window table which offered a little privacy too. The bar menu looks Gastro-pub in terms of options, descriptions and pricing and the chalkboard ‘specials’ look tempting. Although not that busy we had ample time to chat before our meal arrived and after the wait, my daughter’s beer-battered haddock and chips looked delicious. Sadly my gf slow roasted pork belly on mash with sage-cider apple sauce was not. As described on the menu it was served with sugar-snap peas and chanterey carrots (not difficult to prepare). The peas were cooked as I like, still a little bite but the carrots should not have been served, they had brown areas where rot had caused them to mush. I had a quiet word with the waiter who apologised and took my plate back to the kitchen. On return the carrots had been replaced but there was still two with the same issues. I decided to approach the manager about this who explained that they had supply issues, he took my plate and on returning had again replaced the carrots. I decided not to peruse the matter further as our enjoyment of meeting for lunch was suffering. As we left the manager again blamed the supplier and said he had spoken to the chef. There was no mention of any reduction in the bill or possibly a complimentary coffee or dessert (probably as I paid on ordering). I would like to feel confident in revisiting as I like the location, however on this occasion, basic culinary and hospitality skills were lacking.

An unexpected stop in Lincoln due to Car Issues bought me to this place. I didn’t expect much as it was last minute and for the price I paid £90 B&B I wasn’t holding out. However don’t judge a book by its cover. Great hospitality by the small team of staff. Food was outstanding. Steak, ale and mushroom pie with mash was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Rooms are over in a separate building called the lodge. Not particularly lodge like even though it’s set in the middle of nowhere , more travel lodge! On the outside but that’s where the comparison ends the rooms are particularly well maintained and much more appealing than your travel lodge. Clean and warm and offer a very cosy, homely feel. Good decor and facilities. Even had an Nespresso machine and pods. Comfy bed and clean towels and modern bathroom. Heating and hot water. You’d be surprised some establishments treat these as luxury’s, absolutely blown away and I was just about to pay £200 to stay at the Holiday Inn in the town centre. It is a little bit of a drive out of town. I took a taxi and I’m glad I did. Lets hope breakfast is just as good as the Pie I had for dinner. 👍 Great stay so far. This is one I will be book marking when I’m next passing through 😉

Picturesque waterside location serving really hearty pub food. Probably the most steak I've ever been served in a pie! Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms but would definitely recommend eating here. And, if you're looking for the ultimate Sunday lunch, this could be up there in the generosity stakes. A huge plate of food. My favourite was the creamy, well seasoned mash potato.

Love it at the pyewipe, always come for birthday, very welcoming and friendly, food lovely, although a little disappointed ☹️ as the pie which my hubby loves has changed, sorry but not as nice as previous, please consider changing back. Hotel perfect thank you 😊
