Fabulous, Fabulous Fabulous, Oh and did I mention, it was Fabulous. My husband and I have the privilege of pastoring a Christian fellowship in our local town, we'd been quite busy so wanted a few chill days and this was the perfect place. From checking in to checking out everything was brilliant. The location is so peaceful and the pub is set in lovely countryside, the walk along the canal into Lincoln is lovely, it takes around 25 minutes. The staff were great, unfortunately I didn't get all of the names. Scott who worked in the bar was really friendly, as were the other members of the team. The lady who cleaned the rooms was lovely and the chap who served our breakfast each morning was, again, very friendly. Compliments to the chef for fantastic breakfasts and evening meals, superb, if you are having the steak and mushroom pie be prepared to be amazed at the amount of steak in it, there was more in one pie than we have between us on a Sunday, Deeelicious. The rooms are in a separate building just across the car park, the building is immaculate and has a lovely seating area as you enter. The view from the room was lovely, decor immaculate, bed was comfy, great shower, plenty of storage, tea and coffee. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Would we go back? Definitely, and God willing would stay for a week next time. Thank you all for making our stay perfect.

An unexpected stop in Lincoln due to Car Issues bought me to this place. I didn’t expect much as it was last minute and for the price I paid £90 B&B I wasn’t holding out. However don’t judge a book by its cover. Great hospitality by the small team of staff. Food was outstanding. Steak, ale and mushroom pie with mash was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Rooms are over in a separate building called the lodge. Not particularly lodge like even though it’s set in the middle of nowhere , more travel lodge! On the outside but that’s where the comparison ends the rooms are particularly well maintained and much more appealing than your travel lodge. Clean and warm and offer a very cosy, homely feel. Good decor and facilities. Even had an Nespresso machine and pods. Comfy bed and clean towels and modern bathroom. Heating and hot water. You’d be surprised some establishments treat these as luxury’s, absolutely blown away and I was just about to pay £200 to stay at the Holiday Inn in the town centre. It is a little bit of a drive out of town. I took a taxi and I’m glad I did. Lets hope breakfast is just as good as the Pie I had for dinner. 👍 Great stay so far. This is one I will be book marking when I’m next passing through 😉

We arrived earlier than expected, and were pleasantly surprised to find our room ready. Our room was in the lodge and was tastefully decorated, and very clean. A Nespresso machine added a thoughtful touch of comfort. Our room overlooked a field, and despite the nearby road, we didn’t hear a peep from traffic. There was a little sound from the adjoining room, but nothing disruptive. The shower was excellent, powerful and refreshing. The location is a real highlight, a scenic 25-minute walk along the canal into Lincoln. It’s the kind of stroll that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. We dined in the restaurant and found the food to be good. Overall, Pyewipe offers a charming and restful base with easy access to Lincoln. Would happily return.

I won’t be leaving a postitive review, the management are arrogant and damn right rude. This restaurant is a total rip off. Let’s start with disabled access, no signage and when you go up ramp to use side entrance tables n chairs are in the way. Access through patio doors does not have a level threshold plate- I work as building control officer and find this shows arrogance of the place as clearly not arsed. If you are in mobility or similar you will struggle to get over it especially if you have any issues with health quite a bump getting over, my father in law has spinal issues!! We booked table for 6 the staff inside are just running about doing actually nothing took them ages to show us to our table .. place was relatively empty. Shown to table .. waited ages for drinks order to be taken and same for the food order. The cutelry is in a box and you have help yourself, these boxes are dust traps and how long they sat in their no attention to detail here at all, the bench seating was dirty and dust was everywhere. Fish n chips I had was poor at its best , the chips hardly cooked the fish itself was average the mushy peas were not minty as deceived and cold. Father-in-law had steak n ale pie and the pie again not much flavour and veg was raw the carrot was clearly not cooked as we all tried cut it with knife. It says slot when most of table left our food. 30mins passed with staff walking past looking and it was clear we had finished No one could be bothered to clean our table. In end I went through to the bar and asked speak to a manager, a young man said he was bar manager. I was telling him my concerns and that it’s not acceptable and he literally stood laughing in my face literally laughing in front of people in bar, well my response probable not the most dignified are you laughing at me and he carried on laughing well you best go get some in charge of whole place before I launch you over the bar you arrogant little boy. Another manager arrives I tell him what happened to the disbelief of all my family and bar members drinking, oh he’s socially awkward … really ??? I’d say damn right rude agsin show’s arrogance of this place. I told him about the food oh we got a new chef only been with us 2 weeks … And ???? You Steve restaurant grade food and charge for it in your prices, you serve packet sauces and vinegar just this place is worst in Lincoln has to offer, do not visit for food, go for drink by the river that’s it. This place is equivalent to a 2 4 £10 type place but they charge loads more. We will not be returning. I posted my review on Instagram and I had at least 10 other people message say they had same experience as me . It’s a shame the management so not seem to care about how piss poor the restaurant has become now with loads of people having nothing positive to say speaks volumes. Just be warned about disabled access I pointed this out to staff and was not even bothered, remember we don’t choose to be in wheel chair or disabled etc it’s not a choice if we don’t speak up nothing will change and if we are unfortunate to be in a situation of being one where can you visit and...

I thought long and hard before leaving this review as this used to be a really nice place to come and have a meal or a few drinks but it’s gone downhill recently.

Four of us came for lunch and for a starter, a main and a drink each, it came to £140! We all agreed it was very expensive - wouldn’t mind paying this at all if the food was worth it, but it really wasn’t sadly.

I went to order the pea and mint soup for starter but the waiter came back a couple of minutes later and told me it wasn’t on the menu and was butternut squash soup I think instead, so I opted for the pâté and toast instead. Personally I really love a good pâté but it was pretty tasteless, and whereas you used to get two or three slices of bread you now only get one, which was a real issue for me. Although the portion of pâté was a good size, being twice the size of the bread they give you with it isn’t good - especially when it’s £8.50. When I asked for some extra bread I was told I could have it but it would be chargeable - most places happily give you extra bread at no charge, but no - £3.50 for 4 tiny slices of part-baked baguette which is a complete joke - so in total it’s actually £12 for a pretty bland starter with enough bread to actually eat it with, so that completely got my back up to start with.

I then had the lemon chicken which was £18.50 for my main course. Basically what that means is chicken in a cream sauce that has a yellow appearance (presumably because somethings been added, as lemon itself won’t turn the sauce yellow - it only flavours it) but also just tastes bland and definitely didn’t have any lemon taste to it. That, plus you get rice (which is very cheap), broccoli (also very cheap) and I think it was peas (again, also very cheap) and once again, can’t help but feeling it was completely underwhelming as again the food didn’t anywhere near match up to the price charged.

We didn’t bother having a desert as the first two courses weren’t anything special and actually wanted to leave without being totally and utterly fleeced to be honest.

This used to be a great place to come and eat and I really hope it will be at some point again in the future, but until then, I won’t be returning. Totally understand that cost of living means prices have increased but there’s a sensible increase and there’s having a laugh, and £30.50 for two pretty average at the very best dishes isn’t it. People will vote with their feet at times like...

What can I say, an absolute shocking experience.

I visited the restaurant on mothers day with my mum. Her mobility is very poor and I could not get near the entrance parking wise. I had to back up the ramp as far as I could so she could get inside. This is not the first time we have experienced an issue, on our previous visit the doors used for disable access that are also a fire exit were closed and a large plant pot was in front of it.

After booking in I asked the attendant if I could speak to a manager, she told me she was the owners daughter and could help me. I started to explain my concern and it is fair to say I was frustrated. The general manager who I will not name arrived and took over.

I explained my frustration to be told by the general manager that the Pyewipe comply with council requirements. I said there are no disabled parking spaces and he simply repeated his comment, I was then told to lower my voice when I was speaking firmly but not overly loud and he said did we want to eat or not and to leave it there.

I was clearly not going to get anywhere so I said we will eat. As I walked into the dining area I said you are required to comply with the Equality Act. At this he said your not leaving it, you must leave. I was horrified, I said what? and he ordered us to leave telling me we would not be served and that if anything I owed him an apology.

My mum asked what was happening and I explained we had been told to leave, her look was tragic and the general manager relented and said we could stay if I left it. I did.

I felt so uncomfortable I actually went up to him and apologised, I cannot believe I was made to feel like that.

All he had to say was "thank you for your feed back sir, we will take that on board"

I work with people who deal with incredibly difficult customer service problems and they are kind and compassionate because who knows what someone is going through right at that moment.

I have been a regular visitor over the last couple of years pandemic allowable as are my wider family but I will never visit again. I told my sister who said the food quality has dropped any way and given what I experienced I am not surprised.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced and as for my poor mum who has had some very difficult times with her health recently, shame on you is all I can say.

My advice if you have disabled family members, go...
