Did not book a table here as visiting the area we were unaware we needed to. So with this in mind when we arrived for a table of 4 being asked what name was the booking under was a little surprising We explained we had not booked and I have to say the attitude of who I assume the land lady was very abrupt. We always then told we could eat in the restaurant but had to be gone by 3pm (it was only just after 12) We were taken to a table and shortly after food and drinks ordered. Whilst sat a dog was quite noisy and the staff handled it quite well asking the owner to take the dog into another area. The food was not really of a good standard. The fish was well done and the batter a dark brown. The fish was a little wet. The Sunday dinners ere very bland. The pub deco was really nice and very welcoming. When we finished our meal the landlady came over and her attitude was completely different, warm and really friendly. Maybe she was stressed earlier in our visit. Would I visit again? For the food no but for a quite drink and chat yeah

We had a lovely experience. The staff was very friendly and the menu had a nice range of choices. I have an intolerance and I was left very at ease when ordering. There was also a few vegetarian and vegan choices which was a plus. I had a vegan dessert that was lovely. The food we had was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.

Under The New Management, this place is doing really well. Great decor, easy access with parking, lovely staff and atmosphere. Host is very accommodating and the food was spectacular! Loved every minute of being there. Went with family and they all enjoyed it so I'll be coming back with my partner. Thanks for a great night!

We decided to try this place as we had heard it had been renovated. Arrived and went to the bar. No bar staff at all. We waited a long time before anyone came. The place was not very busy and no one was at the bar when we arrived. Finally someone came. It took them ages to serve and a lot of choices we made regarding drinks we were told had run out. We settled in some cases for third choice drinks. We asked them before we sat down is everything your serving on the menu. Yes they said with glee. We thought great. We were handed the menu which was small but you don't mind if they cook it well. We ordered. From there it went down hill. They only had soup or bread and olives on for starter! We said but we thought you hadn't run out of anything! The starter list was so small you could have written it twice on the back of a stamp and still they couldn't provide what they said they could when we specifically asked them. Again we decided to settle for things we wouldn't choose. One soup ordered and bread and olives. There was four of us. Starters not served together. Soup not great and boy did it take them ages to serve it. We waited a long time between the bread and olives being served and the soup being brought out. Now onto the mains. When they arrived the chips for the fish and chips were cold. There was no gravy served with the roast and they weren't coming back to bring some. We advise the landlady chips are cold and no gravy for the roast. She takes the plates and advises she'll get some fresh chips. It's brought back but the fish was not recooked so now that's cold. Still no gravy and now the roast dinner is cold after waiting for the chips and still no gravy. At this point we're fed up as hardly anyone was in. We advise the landlady that we are not happy and just want to go. At this point she looses it and starts yelling. We tell her that she has failed to give us a good service. She is now screatching at the top of her voice causing a scene. We advise we will pay for the drinks but cannot eat the cold substandard food. She tells us no just leave, "get out of my pub" like an episode from Eastenders. We leave and go up the road for food and I would advise everyone do the same. We passed the pub that night and it was closed early. It's obvious why. Such a shame. We remained calm throughout and were flabagasted at the landlady and her behaviour. I advise you...

In order to get our meal we had to first be seated bya waitress the waitress then took us to the bar where the meal was paid for. A choice of three meat dishes was offered so we both opted for Turkey. When it arrived the roast potatoes were overcooked at the bottom whilst the tops were hardly touched. Over the dinner the chef had poured gravy over the meat making it all soggy and a side dish had a further three vegetables along with yet more gravy, this was wasted as to use it would have made the plate into a swimming pool. I must admit the first course arrived quickly so no complaints there. When it came to order desert the same procedure was used, up to the bar give the order to another waitress but this time a period of about 25mins passed before it arrived. This time I had lemon merang pie, the chef had obviously put it in the microwave because the outside was warm whilst inside was cold. When a waitress cleared the table next to us she dropped a knife on the floor but made no attempt to pick it up, it was still there some 20mins later despite going back there several times. I will in their defence say that it did get very busy, however I feel that the ordering system should have someone take a long hard look at it and the chef should also take a look at his procedures. Will I go again? No. There are better places in the area and...

The strangest Land lady I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I can only put her odd behaviour and lack of people skills down to someone who has either bitten off more than they can chew, has never ran a pub before or is going through some sort of “John cleese” esque [faulty towers] mental breakdown! Never in my 65+yrs have I ever met such a vile, condescending women who thinks far too much of herself and thinks she is above and beyond everyone. Went here for a friends birthday and were asked to leave before we even had the displeasure of sitting down. Were told that she didn’t know us!!?? I’m sorry is your pub a local pub for local people! Weird! Looking over the reviews we aren’t the only people to encounter the wrath of the landlady’s bipolar. Do yourselves the favour and go to The Fox, or even the kings arms for crying out loud. At least you’ll be made to feel welcome. I hope her and her lovely pub fall royally on their a**! Too bad the lovely couple who used to run it have now taken over the Angelsea Arms in Bromley. You can’t buy class..... and you certainly can’t scream your way to make people...
