Seems like a nice pub for a drink but food experience was awful. Ordered a tuna melt and a chicken and bacon salad. Waited over 15 minutes, asked where it was as we were pushed for time (in lunch hour), was told they were 'plating it up' - another 10 minutes and still no sign of it, so asked for it to be boxed up to take away. When it turned up, wasnt a tuna melt at all was just a warmed up finger role with a blob of tuna and some grated cheese. The chicken and bacon salad you could have held in the palm of your hand - hadn't even gone for the bite sized portion. Asked for a refund as no way was it worth the money by any stretch of the imagination. Won't be going back, which is a shame as the pub itself is done up nice, with a good outside seating area.

We visited Deers Rest on Sunday 6th March for the first time and I was very impressed with the service we received from Nikki was particularly very helpful even though she was the only staff member running around serving and helping 10 tables full of customers ordering. We had the Sunday roast and it was lovely but what made it special for us and the reason to come back to Deers Rest was Nikki and her pleasant and helpful attitude made our day. One advice please get more staff as it’s not fair on Nikki and other staff as it was obvious they were short staff.

Sat surrounded by our own food waste for 40 mins no one looking after tables.after 45 mins went up to the bar to enquire were were the desserts,"oh you want them?"." No next Tuesday week" I replied.my wife's salad arrived hot and cooked having been left under a heat lamp before arrival at the table..smallest ever portion of ice cream, scoop got mixed up with the Mellon baller I suspect..awful experience

If I could rate this a ZERO that would be more appropriate! Went there for dinner 2 adults 2 children, waited an hour and 40 minutes for our food (i would like to add that the pub wasn't particularly busy there were enough staff on this saturday lunch time, and only 3 tables in front of us-total of 7 people waiting for food) When the meal arrived the steak that I had ordered was not fit for consumption it was mostly gristle and the steak knife I was given wouldnt cut it! I was trying to get a waitress's attention but felt I was totally ignored and started to become upset and went to the bar asking to speak to the manager.. Someone from kitchen staff came over and told me the manager was out and would be back in 5 minutes, I waited 15 minutes before the manager turned up to speak to me and she told me that the wait was due to them being busy which was in fact a lie, she also said she had been in the kitchen the whole time, which totally contradicted the other staff members excuse that the manager wasn't there??!! The manager didn't once apologize for the Steak or poor service, she tried to make excuses but in a very unprofessional and condescending manor. I regularly eat out at restaurants with my family and rarely find cause for complaint as the standard is usually extremely good In sizzlers restaurants! I will be making a complaint to the head office as I am disgusted by the lack of communication between staff and customers not to mention the unprofessional manor in which the manager dealt with the situation as if she...

Went in today, and there was about 10 things from the Menu (new, limited one) that they didn’t have. After having to change my order several times because they didn’t have so many things, I decided on a half pounder bacon/cheese burger, only to be told they didn’t have those burgers, but I could have a small burger, but couldn’t have bacon in it as that has to go with the halfpounders šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤” and I couldn’t buy it as an extra to put in burger. Then after waiting one hour for PLAIN burger, when pub was empty, it was served with everything I asked not to be in it, in it 😔😔😔. Then it was bought back out (same burger, different bun) and was so cold and burnt, the cheese wouldn’t even melt on it. My Mum’s Scampi was burnt and cold, and my Dad,s Hunters Ckicken was cold, with cold bacon and cold grated cheese on it. Dirty glasses and cutlery!!! Worst food I have ever had!!! Another table of about 8 came in, and walked back out as each thing they asked for, from Menu, they couldn’t have and then there were a table of four, who went in for a birthday meal, and 2 had finished their dinner, whilst the other 2 were still waiting. Won’t be going back, that’s...

I have had to put one star on this as Google does not allow you to post one with Zero stars....visited 22 April 18 Staff were incredibly unhelpful even the manager. They changed their menu and although i do understand that they will try to keep to it as they don't want to do much of the old menu. They stopped doing the 5 oz steak which is perfect for a friend of mine who cannot eat very much due to having stomach cancer. He asked if he could still have the 5oz steak but now it is served with chicken too. He could not eat that as well. He was told several lies as to why they couldn't do it for him. when we all know there it is always possible to accommodate small changes to a menu and buttons on the till that can help the staff do that. My friend is a man with invisible illness and if he had been treated with the least bit of respect then we might have stayed. As it was we (all five of us) left without having even a drink. I will never go there again and i will tell everyone else to give it a miss. Thumbs down for the stall care...
