Right, this review is based on the food, food service and pricing. The serving staff are generally lovely and very polite, I do not have an issue with them. The food itself is also of a high quality. BIG however! They are absolutely taking the p* with portions and pricing now. I used to eat here a lot, but it got ridiculous. Today I paid £6.50 for a bacon and sausage roll. The bun was pretty awful to be honest, but the cheek was 1 sausage, yes, 1 sausage, sliced into four! And 2 bits of bacon placed on it. I've noticed this type of penny pinching with other items on the menu, especially the chips, they are expensive, and you get basically a handfull, it's ridiculous.
The other 2 bif issues are hygiene of the outside food station. They have the bins directly by and beneath the unhygienic condiment pumps, cutlery placed in the open air, no cover and again, right next to the bins with pigeons crawling owner the surfaces.
There is also a very weird sytem of NOT bringing customers their food and placing it on the tables with the above mentioned stuff, even when identifying who the food is for, making paying customers get up, from quite an akward distance, and especially not acceptable for the price being paid. It also just comes across as rude serving this way.
My guess is the staff have been told to do this for whatever stupid reason, as they are very polite and helpful in all other aspects.
This should really be addressed...

Read moreIf you want to try a good traditional English breakfast, here's the place!!
The sausages and bacon are cooked to perfection; the egg yolk creamy and the hash brown done nicely. Baked beans are the same everywhere but this tea room makes breakfast how you'd expect.
The seating area outside is in itself inviting. Whilst having breakfast in a rural setting is poetry in itself!! Interior-wise, the seating area is like a well-maintained tea room, spacious, lively with the hum of conversation and rural with a view onto the commons.
A nice vibe with morning runners meeting up or families getting together for that much needed morning coffee and cake.
It's difficult to choose between the breakfast and a good selection of cakes.
The entrance is wheelchair chair accessible with space for a wheelchair in the seating area both inside and out.
Good for family and groups. I can't see a gluten free or diary free signage on the counter but there could be alternatives provided on request.
Excellent customer service and...
