Decided to try a new Indian as my usual was very busy with a 2 hour wait on food. Found Mishu as #1 on TripAdvisor and Google reviews were also good so we gave them a try. One of our starters were missing from the order and we were also given the wrong Naan. I called to let them know hoping they would deliver the missing items but they only offered to comp us the missing food on our next order... Which I don't think there will be.
Price was good and about 10% cheaper than where we usually order from. But this is probably due to the smaller portion sizes. The samosas are particularly tiny along with the chips. Curries were ok. Peshwari Naan was good. Chicken tikka Naan had barely any chicken Tikka in it. Was basically a plain Naan with a sniff of Tikka at best.
Won't be ordering from here again and I have no idea how they are #1 on TripAdvisor and are so highly rated on Google. The food overall was mediocre and the portions sizes were tiny. Would have given 3 stars if they had a more proactive approach to the missing food from our order and delivered said...
Read moreWe came for 1st time tonight... Lovely, small traditional Indian restaurant. The men are dressed beautifully and very polite and knowledgeable about the dishes. You can take your own booze and must pay by cash, the fact you take your own booze brings the overall price down. However, I'd like to point out I didn't choose Mishu just on that reason alone. I chose to go to Mishu, as the reviews are great and to be honest it was the nicest Sheek Kabab starter I've had in ages. I chose the King Prawn Dhansak, which was also delightful. My partner took his leftovers home as he couldn't finish it all. My Dad equally enjoyed his meal. Breads are super too. Chipatis and naans. Clean throughout. Defo be back. I even got a rose. Thanks...
Read moreNice and quiet, clean restaurant. Polite service with little harassment during meal time.
Starter: Sheek Kebab - 8/10 Duck Tikka - 9/10 Paneer Pakora - 10/10
Main: Chilli Paneer - 10/10 Lamb Biryani - 4/10
Reason for the Lamb Biryani score is due to the weak spicing that felt bland but then again this is subjective as I'm of Indian decent and have a tongue that caters for a high flavoursome content.
Overall a good experience but beware this place does not serve alcohol. I think there is a bring your own booze policy but I'm not one hundred percent sure... best call to...
