I rode straight past this restaurant. Why? It is now named Sultan (Remind me to update the details after I give this review). I was in awe of the period interior as I walked through the entrance. Huge wooden beams and a the large fire place are still evident. They give any business housed there a sense of prestige, The Sultan definitely benefits from it. The dark haired hostess happily and enthusiastically showed me to my table. I ordered my food and waited a while for the dishes to arrive. The next member of staff appeared with my dishes; his passiveness was unwelcoming. Please staff, smile, engage and converse with the customers (want to learn from the best, speak to the owner of Zarda). The food was good quality and presented humbly. It is just what I’d expect from British Indian restaurants.

Went here with a couple mates on a quiet Monday night 😂 Even though it was quite there was a nice atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and took the time to explain parts of the menu to us. Definitely one to revisit in the future.

Shocking Customer Service Experience - Cannot Recommend

Tonight we are hosting a gathering at our home in Yalding with eight friends and decided to try Zarda after not using them for years. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

When we called to place our order, the employee who answered the phone seemed to be struggling with their system. Our phone number wouldn't register, and they couldn't find our information. Despite providing our phone number three times, the employee's tone became increasingly angry and frustrated, as if it was our fault that their system couldn't locate our details from our mobile.

We asked if they could simply add us as new customers, but the employee was clearly unwilling to help and seemed disinterested in our order. At this point we have not given him any additional information to manually add us or try. We suggested trying another establishment if this is being to difficult, the employee actually agreed, which was shocking to us.

We strongly recommend avoiding this place. Save yourself the trouble and choose another...
