One of the best roasts I have had in England! Affordable and delicious. Also a great dog friendly pub, my labrador was able to go into the bar to order with me and then we sat out the front of the pub. Cheesy leeks with the roast were AMAZING - what a great chef choice! The owners happened to be sitting next to me and were lovely to chat to, you can tell they love their jobs and value all of their customers. Highly recommend as a stop if you are visiting the Malvern Hills or the Welland Steam fair as I was. Only downside was I could not get a park outside as it was a busy Sunday, but I was able to park across the road in a safe spot. I also arrvied at 2.45pm to be told the kitchen closes at 3pm which I could not see on their website before arriving. Thankfully they were still kind enough to serve me!

We only come to the area once a year on holiday, so decided to give the Duke of York Inn a go after reading reviews. We weren't disappointed, as soon as we entered (with Buddy the Beagle also) we were made to feel welcome There was no rushing about, all the waitresses were attentive. We both had roast beef Sunday dinner, and can honestly say, it was probably the best we've ever had. For 2x dinners, 2x puddings, 2x pints each and a bottle of wine, less than £80. Perfection. 👍👍

Even the menu is a normal pub menu, but food quality and tasty is beyond the normal pub food. Drinks are nice and dessert is definitely worthwhile £6.5. We don’t think the service is slow especially we visited in a summer Saturday night. Dog friendly as well, plus cute decorations. Just be little bit patient, drink, chat and even walk around (there is a filed just close by), but good food never can be rushed.

A long story cut short.

My experience of this lovely family run pub was exceptional not only was our evening welcomed by the staff and landlord it was a busy and very hospitable but when I discovered I had a flat tyer at 2100 the landlord wanted to help. I explained I live Milton Keynes and needed the car. For the next day He recommended me to leave the car on his property and he would take me back to Hereford. (30mins) The next day the landlord had got all the right connections ready for me to get this fixed it took all day but got there in the end the landlord was very helpful and can't thank him enough for his support. I will always stop at this pub now when I pass, beautifully presented inside and out and very welcoming definitely need to book a table for next time

Keep up the good work and...

I've been here numerous times with my parents, who love this place. Real ale is generally good and reliable, mains are excellent and generously sized. Pie and chips recommended in particular-shortcrust pastry, quality filling and wonderful homemade chips. The guy who normally takes orders etc is very enthusiastic and clearly loves his job, and the place is generally very friendly and welcoming. Only downsides are the puddings are largely forgettable (they used to do an excellent chocolate orange brownie but this has now bafflingly been substituted for an unremarkable plain brownie), and it's not really one for vegetarians; saying that it's a country pub at the end of the day and it's very good at...
