Visited recently for Sunday dinner after friends recommended the food so we were really looking forward to it. Ordered our food and the young guy serving us asked how we wanted our beef served, we asked for 2 rare/pink and 2 well done. When our food arrived all were well done and the waiter then told us āsorry they all come as we serve themā which is absolutely fine however, why ask how we wanted them in the first place? Soon as our plates were cleared we were then told we had to leave our table which surprised us as, our booking was for 3pm and it was only 4pm so we had only been at the table an hour and had 1 course! Again if we had been pre warned we only had a slot of an hour this would have been reasonable however there was no one else in the restaurant area, nor did we know we had a strict time slot. This also meant we couldnāt even order a dessert or coffee if we had wanted one! Food was nice but staff were very rude and unaccommodating so therefore wouldnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a terrible experience at the New Inn. We came for a BBQ on Sunday and the food service was extremely slow, albeit the food was decent. This wasnāt caused by lack of staff- there were plenty around just running like headless chickens. The service from staff was acceptable, apart from the older lady with short hair - who basically shouted at me and was extremely disrespectful. She threw a straw at me when I asked for one to stir my Pimms with. I have never come across anyone so rude in hospitality. Lastly, as part of our package we had desserts - 5 out of the 7 options had ran out within 15min⦠horrendous stock management. Then for the second time I got shout at by the older waitress with short hair - aggressively asking āraspberry tart or syrup spongeā and repeating those words 5 times. I then had to take a step back and say āwould you mind not speaking to me in this toneā. To say that this was a disappointing experience is an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreArrived at the New Inn with high hopes for a lovely pub meal and drinks following a walk around the nearby Shrawley Woods. We arrived to find the manager at the car park who said we needed to pay Ā£3 to park - I donāt begrudge paying but seems a little unfair to charge patrons who are buying food and drink also. We went inside to pay the fee as we only had card and decided to also get a drink before we started our walk. The manager then came up to us whilst we were enjoying our drinks to ask whether we had managed to pay the fee! We would have come back for further drinks and food following our walk but found it to be rude and inhospitable so didnāt bother. As the pub is in a great position for walks it seems a shame to put paying customers off like this as we would have come back and spent another Ā£30-Ā£40 on food and drink had it been more welcoming. A real shame and unfortunately wouldnāt return...
