Very poor experience! Booked 2 weeks in advance for an 18th birthday party with a party of 20 people then to receive a phone call from the owner Geoff 5 days before the event; who was very unsympathetic to inform us that the evening was cancelled. This was a booking for the Friday night party night and disco. This is a very poorly run business with no customer service or customer satisfaction attitude whatsoever. While I have had good experience in the past with the hostess I have found that the business has gone downhill as of recent and to cancel on a very important milestone of someone's life means that we will not be using the hostess again! Please be aware that this could happen to any customer; to be left a week before without being able to book for such a large party in any other restaurant means that the hostess has put a dampener on what was a very important night....

I'd just like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the team at the Hostess for their unstinting loyalty and support to all their customers during this extremely sensitive time.

I've seen for myself their efforts to keep all the wandering hands areas spotlessly clean, including each and every chair, table leg, ledges, rails, wherever the hand may go, the spray and clean cloths will be sure to follow.

They follow the track and trace customer contact to the letter without being officious, the QR code works perfectly, the team are appropriately clad without the Hazmat suit effect, and most importantly, the Hostess is a family business, we're all As One there.

Makes sense to look after each other don't it?

The Hostess is the best restaurant in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the South Yorkshire region. I've been to many varied functions at the Hostess, never disappointed. Table linen and glassware are always pristine, table service discreetly unobtrusive but very efficient.

Together with the extensive menu and excellent food, always freshly prepared with locally farmed meats, fresh vegetables and delicious desserts, its a real treat to visit the Hostess.

The family owners, Nia and Andrew Hopper and Sue and Geoff Walker richly deserve any and all plaudits that come their way, their many years of hard work...
