Liked: So the positives, The site is close to most attractions you can see oakwood a field away, folly farm is about a 5 minute drive and tenby isn't too far either. There is plenty of room in the field for the pitches and space for the kids to run and play plus the park is an added bonus, there is also a shaded area just behind the main field for pitching. The pub has a small beer garden which wasn't too busy the second evening we stayed. It took us a while to get through to someone on the phone on arrival but we were just told to pitch where we liked.
Disliked: The negatives for me were the lack of showers/washing facilities and toilets, the site definitely needs a toilet wash block by the pitches and not having this really let's the site down, obviously on booking your aware of the lack of showers but it's quite a walk to the toilet depending on where you pitch too which is a bit of a hassle with young children especially during the night, also from the camp-site the toilets aren't really signposted. Nobody greets you or checks in on you so when we arrived we had to ask other campers where the water was and the toilets etc and they said they had to do the same as us when they arrived. Throughout August oakwood holds the after dark openings a few times a week, we were not aware of this when booking but the loud music and fireworks were a bit of a inconvenience with young children keeping them awake, so perhaps something to consider if booking with young kids and dogs. I'd book again if washing facilities and toilets were put up on the pitch, reading the reviews this seems to be something that is...
Read moreLiked: Loved the location, we could see Oakwood from our tent and the after dark event that happens a couple of times a week meant we could hear the music from the DJ and at closing time we were treated to a fireworks display. Loved the on site pub, the food was great and portions were very generous! We were only an 8 min drive from Folly Farm. The pitch was lovely and there was an on site park which was great for the kids.
Disliked: No showers, although a shower block is being built, and for 1 night stays this site is great. Once the shower block is built I will definitely come back for 2 + night stays. The on site washing up sink was full of muck so it would be good if someone maintained the sink and cleaned it out so that people can wash...
Read moreLovely location and venue, buffet was very nice. The wedding we went to looked stunning, I think the bride decorated it all though so can't give The Snotty Fox the credit. The lady working possibly the owner was abrupt to a few of us eating the evening buffet in the bar area, a barman said we could as there was no room for us in the function room with the wedding party. The owner came over and said we couldn't eat in the bar. I did say if they found us a table and seats we would gladly go in the function room but I'm not standing eating my food. We had been sat at a table in the bar drinking all evening, We made no mess and there was no other people eating in the bar so I couldn't see what the fuss was about. 1st time here, not sure if I'd...
