I would have given 5 stars but for a few things. Firstly there are not many disabled parking places. People like myself need them as we need our car doors open fully. You have to stand and wait a long while to give your order as the assistants make the coffees and serve at the same time. When your food is ready, which does not take long, you see the waitresses wandering around the three rooms with plates of food in their hands shouting out a receipt number. Would be much more calm to have a table number and give that when you order. Then your foods comes directly to you. I would have liked a side plate for my toast and butter. It comes on top of your plate of food therefore the toast was soaked with the juices from the food. The food itself is excellent and the restaurant good except for the hard wooden chairs so find yourself a padded one. The cake side is good and you can eat in or take the food out. A bonus is that well behaved dogs are allowed in the conservatory now. In the warmer months the outside seating is nice with a lovely view across the fields. There is a safe play area for children. A potting shed selling garden plants and a small farm shop. All in all, would I go there again it is a...

So so disappointed. Rude staff, got kicked out of the play barn early for singing happy birthday to my 6 year old daughter.

A bit of background: Myself and a few mum friends frequently visit Hill top, usually after school to let the kids blow off some steam.

Myself and 3 other parents arrived this afternoon with birthday cake for my daughter. (No decorations, no other food, no party bags, no music) EACH adult went into the cafe and bought drinks/snacks. We were stared at by two members of staff, had comments made at us and then got kicked out of the play barn 30 mins before close because we had a birthday cake/sang happy birthday. We were told we had made a huge mess (it was no less messy than any other time we visit, which is like 3+ times a week). Bare in mind, there were other children / families playing in the barn too… We were then told off as we were leaving by one of the waitresses. It was like she was waiting on the corner to say something to one of us. So so rude. I wouldn’t recommend visiting, they’re on some weird power trip. Totally unprofessional, awful. Will not...

Lovely, authentic little farm shop. Fresh and frozen meat available, baked treats, dog treats, jam, canned stock, meat rubs (if I remember rightly), liquid herbs, strawberries, cream. I would say just about anything you would want a farm shop to sell and more...though couldn't find any clotted cream...maybe they were just out 🤷🏻‍♀️. Will become a regular as soon as I can drive. Great park for the kids to play in, food at the restaurant was lovely, sausage roll has been through the 'honey I blew up the kids' machine cos it was enormous...(it was the cleanest joke I could think of)...Staff were lovely and polite even when they were rushed off their feet. Expect to pay a little bit though if staying for food, not that the prices weren't justified but if you want something cheap and cheerful I'd put this in the ££ bracket however the frozen meat in the shop usually has a good deal on it so po-tay-toe po-tah-toe. Oh...and best of all...it's...

We decided to come here after our trip to picking strawberries was cancelled and was in need of lunch to feed the kids. An absolute gem just on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray. With fantastic food choices for both adults and children. There is also a separate coffee van for those that come riding in by bike for a quick pick me up. The food was soo unbelievably good. With generous portions and really well presented salads. And I couldn’t believe how fast it came out, maybe waited 10 minutes. On site they have the small farm shop and grocery of fresh vegetables and fruit. Along with local produce. While the adults mingle, kids can safely play in both play areas as the whole area outside is fenced off and surrounded by the farm animals, which include Alpacas, donkeys and sheep.

This place is lovely food is good and the menu is simple but effective. There are a good selections of foods and the staff are friendly and approachable - the only thing is the place can be noisy and they shout out numbers. It would be far better to run table number system. This place also boast other things like selling plants and local farm produce. I recommended looking around. I did not take pictures this time but will go back another time. Wheelchair-accessible car park Wheelchair-accessible entrance Wheelchair-accessible seating Wheelchair-accessible toilet Offerings Alcohol Beer Coffee Healthy options Small plates Vegan options Vegetarian options Wine Dining options Breakfast Brunch Lunch Dessert Seating

What an amazing place hidden gem!! We stumbled across this place by accident whilst hungry woth the children in the car, upon arrival the shop and Caffee look really inviting staff were great very helpful plenty of room to sit and eat, it was busy but we still managed to find a table. The kids can go and play outside in the park and various activities you can see the donkeys in their field. Food choice was great something for everyone even fussy children. It all seems to be local produce the cakes look amazing loads to choose from and again they all look home made. Overall great place to visit with children or just for some good quality home made healthy food
