Mother’s Day carvery booked for 2.30, got seated just before 3. Worst carvery I’ve ever seen or eaten. The broccoli and peas/green beans were brown and burnt in the serving pan so didn’t bother with those. The mash looked really dry so also didn’t bother. The roast potatoes were soggy but also hard and the Yorkshire puddings were sunken and soggy, they had obviously been there for a few hours. At £16 a head and £13 each for a 2 and 5 year old I would expect something really good. We also had to change our drinks to start as they were so bad and the woman behind the bar was very rude so didn’t think it worth our breath complaining about the terrible food. Would not recommend and definitely won’t return. The carpark and little garden out back are also full of dog poo, which we found out when the 2 young kids went running back to the car. Also overcharged us by over £30 which we had to challenge a couple of times before they admitted...
Read moreHad been informed that this was an 'amazing' carvery. Arrived to find restaurant empty, only 2 parties booked so table service only, I would have liked to have known this when booking then we wouldn't have wasted our time and money. Half hour wait to be asked for our choices, I explained to chef which person had the allergy, she replied with raised eyebrows, eyes to the ceiling and a huf. Beef tough, pork really strong, veg too soft, stuffing hard, yorkies floppy, roast potatoes obviously cooked and recooked- rock hard outer. Wait for apple sauce was so long we had nearly finished our dinner. Dessert - pie, pastry soggy, undercooked and brown. Very big mix up on the day, a party of 15 arrived for a 90th celebration with confirmation of booking but staff on duty not aware of booking. I wish they had then we may have got a carvery, personally, I could have had a better lunch at Toby or...

The Plough Stathern was next on our list to check and get some food. We booked a table for 4 but the pub was completely empty, it felt weird to be there.
We had a lovely waitress, who was doing everything she could to make our evening good. She made us feel so welcome and she was absolutely great.
Unfortunately the food wasn't great at all. There was no choice for gluten-free, we were offered only mushed potatoes and sausage which wasn't nice. The burgers were dried and tasteless.
The food was the worst food we tried so far, during the local pub mischief. The only good thing about the place was the lovely waitress and the service.
I hope the pub and the food improves as it's located in a beautiful area of Vale of Belvoir, in...
