I wanted beef and all that was available was scraggy over cooked end bits. I asked if there was any nice beef available and was told I had to wait and he can’t throw the bits away that were left. I ended up with dried scraggy, fatty end bits as my husband had already got his meal. Not great service. Half of the vegetable dishes looked dried out and some were empty. The roast potatoes were absolutely burnt to nothing. It was my birthday today and my daughter tied a birthday balloon to my chair. Unfortunately when we left we forgot to take the balloon.. After 10 mins we realised we’d left it and rang to ask them to save it so I could collect it ,which we would have done within 15 mins. I was told quite matter of factly and rudely, that as it was left, we assumed it was rubbish so disposed of it! Of course they could have removed from the chair and kept it longer than 10 mins to see if we came back for it! It’s only a small thing but the balloon was given to me by Granddaughter.
In response to The Gap’s reply Firstly there were never any other decorations just the balloon Our booking was at 4.30pm so I’m correct with my timings. As for Tom- yes he was polite at first but then was very sharp with his replies. I got the feeling he thought- it’s only a balloon. Let’s not blow this out of proportion. I just wanted to let you know of our experience and as we only live approx 3 minutes away and were...
Read moreThe worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Reserved a table online only to find the place half empty and left to find yourself a seat. Ordered on the app to save time.
Drinks came quickly and waitress was friendly. However lots of staff mucking about- chefs wandering aimlessly and taking the mick out of each other which is fine, but it made you feel a bit uncomfortable and there is no customer awareness.
After over 40 mins of waiting for a chicken parm I asked the waitress to check on it for us. She appeared 30 seconds later with a scorching hot bowl of overcooked, dry stuff that had clearly been forgotten about. My other half went up to get his carvery option and wished he hadn’t bothered.
The turkey was so overcooked it was powdery dry, seriously salty gammon, brussel sprouts that were like bullets.
If I’d thought raising the issue with a staff member would’ve made any difference, I would’ve. But to be honest the place seems like it’s run by a bunch of kids, and the chefs clearly spend more time mucking about than doing any kind of cooking. We were also starving by the time we got our food and couldn’t be bothered to argue- not that there was anyone to complain to as it was virtually self service!
Maybe we caught them on a bad day- after all a Friday night is hardly peak time. But to be honest I wouldn’t run the risk of giving...
Read moreI booked a table for mum’s birthday lunch. We were greeted by Kerry who wished mum a happy birthday and showed us to our seats. We all had carvery meals and I have to say, the service by ‘Monch’ was first class. He was chatty and polite and again wished mum a happy birthday. The gammon, turkey and beef were delicious, and there was an array of vegetables as well stuffing and roasties. All piping hot and cooked very well and not overdone. Monch’s colleague, ‘Ireland’ was also making sure all was well food-wise too. We had pudding and Kerry brought out a cake decorated with strawberries and chocolate sauce, complete with candle for mum too. How lovely. Turns out Monch is good at cake decorating and carving! We were also well looked after by Leah and all in all we had a really lovely time very mum’s birthday. Nothing was too much trouble for the team. I would happily recommend and will be...
