Stopped here for a meal on our way home from Nottingham and having never been to a Stonehouse before so was unsure what to expect. The staff were friendly and helpful with knowledge of the menu which is always nice to find. Food at The Gap Inn was very delicious we had a selection of dishes to try. The only dish that I didn't rate was the Salt n Pepper beer battered mushrooms as they didn't taste of much other than mushrooms but everything else was spot on. The pizza's are definitely a highlight as the one we had was absolutely fantastic full of flavour and a nice fresh tasting stone cooked dough.

Grubby . Very disappointed in the visit today. Whilst one member of staff , a young lad was working like a trojan, two others were sitting (one i suspect was a manager) discussing how empty the place was, The carvery food looked totally unappetising and the service area decidedly grubby. We decided on freshly cooked food however which was fine. Condiments however were congealed and very nasty . Hats off to the young lad for persevering but i fear he has an uphill battle.
