Ok a bit of back story, 2004 was the last time I was in the Sugar Loaf. It was my Nans funeral, when she was alive we used to come over just for a bowl of chips. So 18 years later I bring my children who are now 8 and 2 to enjoy the same bowl of chips I used to enjoy. Pint was lovely chips were even lovelier. Thank you sugar loaf for feed so many brilliant memories. 5 star

Had a good meal great service but !! Staff smoking in clearly sign posted No Smoking Area … Non smoking area filthy which leads to kitchen area Mountain of rubbish from food prep all dumped in car park area can only attract VERMIN Cannot understand why they allow this shocking lack of hygiene to continue

Pleasant atmosphere, tasty food. Good portion size. I wouldn't bring the kids, but it was perfect for our mini-valentines dinner.

Booked a table for 8. We was seated in the conservatory without heating, it was freezing sat in our coats. We asked for other seating elsewhere but as we were a large party there was none. 3 other couples come in to eat and moved out of the conservatory while we was there due to the cold. Our food arrived but the plates wasn't heated, and it was obvious our food had been left on the side without any heat plates. The food was only just warm, 2 of us complained and both dishes was replaced. We then all had our food but then had to wait 5 mins for the veg! - yes before you know it your main food is cold again!. The food was nothing special and to be honest you can get better service and food at a local franchise restaurant. They did deduct our drinks from the bill, but it didn't really compensate for our poor afternoon meal we got. I wouldn't recommend it and we won't be...

Booked a table to eat here as a stop off on our journey to Lincolnshire.

This is one of those places you wished you lived closer to, what a lovely pub with fabulous hosts, as for the food well all I can say is amazing, prawn cocktail was very well presented and delicious served with fresh warm farmhouse bread and butter (gluten free option available) my wife had the rump steak and I had the sirloin both were cooked to perfection and both were melt in your mouth, as for the chunky chips that accompanied them well I actually think they were the best chips I've ever eaten, there was a Portobello mushroom and half a grilled tomato along with a side salad too, all very well presented I must say. We will definitely return in the future even if it means driving the 30 miles from home just to...

Traditional pub in a nice setting , providing well kept beer and wines, plus a well varied menu of freshly prepared foods. All the food was of a good standard, I had the Melton ploughman's lunch which had a local cheese selection and a light salad, plus a pork pie slice for around £7.50 which I thought was reasonable as it was enough to share for 2 especially with a bowl of hand cut chips at £2 on the side. The pub is bright and traditional with a modern twist to the decor, staff were friendly and very polite. Toilets were cleaned to a good standard, and doorways were wide enough to accommodate a small powered mobility chair. Ample parking spaces available to rear of building . On the whole a good place for a drink and meal without...
