Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

A back story, please bear with me. I’ve gone cold turkey on coffee for the past 3 days, i had sold my espresso machine on the weekend. There is me, in Chelmsley Wood, post COVID vaccination, with a craving for the liquid gold. I nearly wept when I saw Costa Coffee pop up on Google Maps when I typed in “Coffee Shops” into the search. I walked at pace to Chelmsley Wood shopping centre. I stood patiently in the queue and was delivered a flat white. After being promoted to download the Costa iOS app I contactless-ly paid a mere 50 pence. I walked outside, took one sip and held back the tears of joy. My tastebuds, having had a 3 day hiatus, tasted every note of that beautifully crafted...

Such a shame I have to give a low rating

Absolutely lovely staff Chatty, polite and friendly. Cannot fault them BUT the FLIES in this Costa are unbelievable, having to constantly flick your hand around to shoo them away, they were everywhere. Behind the glass screens around the food, all around the display food/items and even around customers and their beverages. My friend who was there with me didn't finish her food, the flies would not leave us alone and was all around on the walls and tables.

Think inspection is needed for this Costa location, very off-putting

I visit here frequently with my mom and either one or both of my children. The staff are always lovely and the coffee is well made. Yesterday I visited with my 3 year old son for some important one on one time (harder to do nowadays as he has a new baby sister). The staff who were on were SO good with my son. They spoke to him about his order, asking whether he wanted his milk hot or cold and chatting to him when he showed them his dinosaur or pointed to Spider-Man on his jumper. Honestly, staff speaking to your child like this goes SUCH a long way and we had such a nice...
