Went for brunch. Disappointed that there is no gluten free option. We placed our order but then had to chase up our hot drinks order as the staff member had forgotten. Then when the breakfast arrived we we shocked at the portion size. Tiniest pot of beans we have ever seen. Two overcooked eggs, one tiny dried up mushroom. Which looked like the smallest mushroom in the world! And a cold tomato. On the plus side the two slices of bacon and two sausages were nice. We do not like hash browns so asked for them to be left off the plate when placing our order. No extra bacon etc offered as a substitute. The decor was lovely with open fires, however really cold in there. We moved from our table by the window after eating, to a table by the fire. But even then we felt no warmth from the fire. Won't be returning as we found it was not value for money or tasty enough to entice us to go back. We also found the customer interaction and service lacking. I have since had a reply from this establishment blaming me for not checking that there wasn't a gluten free menu. Saying they were confused that I hadn't checked beforehand. Only one person in our group requires a gluten free option. Not all of us. And she managed just fine with her choices. The main issues for us were the tiny portions, the cold temperature, the lack of customer service and the time we waited for our hot drinks. So basically all of the other issues I have mentioned. Not the gluten free options. Just to avoid...

To start the food was good. No problems with the quality or portion sizes. The steak I had was cooked well and done to how I ordered it. The 2 stars come from the controls. Having our first meal out since the pandemic warning has been lowered, we were expecting more safety measures in place. Yes you have the app for drinks, except for craft ales and also track and trace, plus signage for waiting, no problems there but..... The queuing system was horrendous! My wife and I were crammed inside like sardines waiting to pay and order the food with the people queing having to constantly move far to close to the other guests as the staff tried to get pass to serve the food and return the plates to the kitchen. There were NO controls to this other than the manager running around, trying to convince people to order drinks on the app at your table "unsuccessfully" but he tried. The spread of COVID was completely possible through poor measures. There were to many people crammed Into a small space. It was not safe, nor controlled to how it should have been. Having lost someone to Covid, I was left horrified by this. I suggest, if you are having a queuing system to have markers on the floor, less people allowed up to que, to distance them and certainly keep your bar staff better protected as people were as close to the bar as in normal times. All in all we have been to you many many times and have been left feeling disappointed and not valued...

We went because of the great reviews and especially as one of us is gluten intolerant it looked like there was good choice. However when we got there no one was there to show us to a table or tell us where to go. Then when we went to the bar and asked we were told to have a seat on a table that was very wobbly. We moved tables to a seat where the radiator was on even though it was a hot day! The gluten free member asked for a gluten free menu and was told they couldn’t guarantee and that she would have to choose if an allergen guide on an iPad. Then the internet went off so she had to go to the bar and look at someone’s laptop. The staff were not helpful at all! The food came and it was clearly prepared food and although edible it wasn’t great!

Then when ordering drinks I was told to go away as the system has crashed again! Again not helpful and to be honest rude!

All in all they need to sort out a gluten free menu as this is quite basic stuff these days. Not an allergen guide that takes hours to sort through just a simple gluten free menu like many other restaurants have. Plus the staff need a customer service refresher course!

Sorry but that’s just...

Poor Sunday roast. First impression, prawn cocktail starter shows that the kitchen staffs have no pride in their profession.!! Main course, half roast chicken looks and tastes good but there are feathers left on. Yorkshire pudding is tough and the little dark brown ball, in the middle of it, is non-descriptive, presumably Stuffing! I don't like my veg over cooked but the messy pile of greens on my plate was almost raw. Roast potatoes are too bad to talk about it, the Chantanay carrots have unappetising black tops. Lastly, the gravy must be a cheap commercial brand as it is rather tasteless. I was hoping that my pudding would encourage me to give a better overall review. Simply average factory made stuff. Nice clean pub with pleasant outdoor sitting areas though.

This is a nice pub. The staff were friendly giving good conversation & humor. It has onsite parking, disability access and tvs to show sports. They have a good menu which offers discounts for buying the 2 or 3 course options and have a good vegeterian/vegan menu. On the bar they have home made drinks like cloudy lemonade which are quite cheap to buy and very refreshing. They have good toilet access and open space which is easy to navigate. They also have a big beer garden which is nice for warm days which also has a park adjacent to it (approx 100 yards away). I had the vegan burger which was very nice

Lovely pub, good menu, friendly staff, ordered via the app, drinks and food delivered promptly, food was hot and tasty, good value for money. A few items were not available to order, but did appear on the app - only advised not available once added to order, which meant we had to choose an alternative, but apart from that no issues at all. Sunday Roasts all went down very well - Definitely worth a visit
