Went in for lunch on the hoof yesterday. I am pregnant and was carrying my toddler as she didn't want to walk (parents of small children will appreciate it is easier to give in and carry them on such occasions!) I, the ONLY person stood at the counter, stood for 12 minutes right next to the counter waiting to order, continuously having to shift my toddler on my hip. There was one person behind the counter (I assume was a manager as he was wearing an actual shirt, not polo and baseball cap) who had about 5 paper food orders spread on the counter and was trying to get these sorted for the people waiting (sat down at tables whilst food was being prepared). Only one seated group was already eating. No acknowledgement to myself, just head down, muttering to himself what sounded like items of food he needed for the various tickets splayed on the counter. A female server came in (from lunch break maybe?) and walked to the man behind the counter and helped him to prepare orders rather than serve me. After a Further 3 minutes of standing bouncing my fidgety toddler on my hip, the man said to the server 'go and serve that woman, she's waiting.' I asked for a kids nuggets, sliced apple portion and box juice drink for my toddler and a regular bacon double cheeseburger for me. The server took my money and I continued to wait. After another 4 minutes of waiting for my food to be prepared, I collect our order and return to our car. Once in the car we unpack our lunch to find fries instead of sliced apple in our bag so I return to the shop and ask for the apple, only to be told by the female server that they'd run out?! At no point during my ordering or waiting for food was I told about this, nor was I offered an alternative. I enquire do but no other 'healthy' options were available as a swap which I find very frustrating as there should be such things on offer. All in all, shockingly slow service, abysmal customer service/relations, poor communication and questionable stock control. I shall not be returning and shall venture to Exeter for the next nearest BK in future. Readers take note I HAD to give one star, as it doesn't...
Read moreJust popped in for a meal after driving 3hrs as decided to go for this restaurant with my girlfriend so went in, there was only one person working behind the counter, it's dinner time and the place it's quiet, people were sat at the restaurant tables waiting for their meals so we did the same, i started setting up the table ready for our meal when that same young boy working there called us for our meal and said, I'm sorry we're only doing take away as the restaurant is closed!!! That wasn't very nice at all, so I politely said that at least it would be nice to have a polite note somewhere to pre warn people that had been driving for hours and just want a place to eat inside, or at least just mention while you're ordering instead of wating for people to be comfortable thinking they're gonna have a nice meal and then be kicked out to eat outside!!! It's rude and annoying and not the service expected from a...
Read more?.. Friday night around 9pm. Starving! After deliberating and cogitating, we sank to the depths of our culinary tolerances and dove into Burger King. I ordered a' whopper ' meal and had no clue of the impending error my wife was making, ordering "Dorito chicken strips." I have no words! Take really salty, cheesy Doritos and roll highly processed chicken which now has the texture and taste of wet toilet paper, into crushed doritos.Form into a chunky chip shape...smoke alot of skunk to convince yourself that this is a great idea to put on the menu and fry. Fry until the oil becomes the main ingredient. Voila!! A totally inedible, saltier than the dead sea extravaganza of a meal that you could only serve to any of our Government...
