We had pre-booked. The food took over an hour and a half to come out, bearing in mind we were the only people in the pub!! (Should've taken the hint!) When the food did arrive it was the most underwhelming, overpriced meal I have EVER had. It was edible which is why I have given it 2 stars. I think the waiter who also didn't know what a Guiness and black was, was also 'cooking' A real shame as the pub is beautiful. Poor food, poor service and poor management. Would NOT recommend. I would rather have driven another 20 miles and found somewhere decent. Response to comment of management: 1. If you are silly enough to think I would ever want to return you are sorely mistaken. 2. Pretty poor practice to be so unprofessional in a response like this. 3. I note I’m not the only one who has given a bad review. Perhaps a time to look inward and make some improvements rather that getting shirty and trying to make out the customer is in the wrong. 4) There were 12 other people in the party that can corroborate my review, and that I have told about your response.

Absolutely lovely little inn just two minutes off the A30 road. We came here looking for a rest stop, and were greeted by a very friendly waitress who gave us excellent customer service. The food was excellent, and they were very accommodating of my autistic brother. Also they have a unique pub garden with lots of interesting details. Definitely a great place for a detour.

Absolutely lovely place for a drink and a bite. Staff are excellent and a really nice garden to sit in too. Good selection of beers.

What can I say about this place. We wanted to try this pub for dinner whilst here on holiday, my son has coeliac so we emailed to check they could cater for him, to which they said yes they do gluton free buns for the burgers aswell as other options. We booked a table and stated one was gluton free. So when we got there and ordered,we ordered a burger ( gluton free) and asked them to double check the bun and if not sure not to do the bun. At first they said they didn't have any buns left then said they found one, but we over herd them talking about it saying they was not sure and to do a ciabatter bread which we know is not gluten free. They then came out with the packet for the one gluton free bun they had but it was 2 months out of date. They did not seem to understand how I'll it can make people with coeliac. And how often do they check the dates on the food for the one bun to be two months out...

Went for a midweek lunch with my partner. I hadn't visited for a few years. There were very few other customers. We were made to feel welcome by the staff, even though it was a quiet day, the reception was friendly, relaxed and good humoured.

We had a pint each of good beers, in clean glasses and took our menus to the pretty, secluded garden. We couldn't make up our minds what to eat to ordered a mix of a light dish, a panini and a main course. Even though it was a quiet day, everything was prepared to order, fresh and delicious. The fries that came with one dish were the best I've had in a long time.

The service and welcome was really good. The chap said he'd taken it over 6 months earlier and his care and attention to to good food, beer and service was notable.

If we didn't have to drive we would have loved to have stayed longer. We'll defintely be back next time we have a day...
