A brilliant community hub pub, with a different offering to the norm - fresh, healthy, locally produced and organic food served by genuinely happy people who really care about what they are doing! The drinks are also from local providers where possible (the cider is great!), served alongside ethical brands such as Karma Cola. The space is clean, homely and inviting and the atmosphere is chilled and relaxed; there is parking, a garden, cosy snug rooms and a meadow area with options for camping. During the non-pub hours the rooms are used for classes including yoga and ladies choir, so that the Cross Keys is more than a traditional pub. Ghana chef- amazing mackerel curry, really incredibly tasty with different textures and excellent value. Washed down with locally brewed lager.
The smaller bar was buzzing with a darts competition going on in a neighbouring room and the main room was filling up with some local talented folk arriving with an array of instruments for the fortnightly open mic… It had such a friendly feel.
